Had to go down to London Colney for training. 66km round trip. Last time I went by bus (in the snow) and had to get out of bed an hour earlier.
I tried to use quiet back roads, but during the rush hour there is no such thing. Each and every lane is a rat-run.

I used to live round there when it was nice and quiet. Many many moons ago.

First time on 23mm tyres since October and I had gears too. Also got to use my cyclechat buff, those things do sort of work, although I'll have to work out how to wear them.

29 miles today .Otley again but a different way .Funny i got shouted at by an old lady .I was removing a pair if bib shorts or was going to i had my jersey half off .When she appeared in the doorway of a lodge opposite Farnley Hall business park .Told me and my mates to move on .
The inmates at Otley are normally ok seeing thousands of cyclists pass through .

Anyway the ride was beautiful, did 4 more miles than Tuesday .Knee is baffling me .Still swollen and feels like a balloon inside the knee .But not long to go now .

A hilly 48 Miles across the Wolds and back. Planned on a time of 3 hours, but managed it in 3hrs 1min 30 secs. Probably lost a lot of time pushing hard into a headwind for 20 miles off and on, but when I turned for home it was very fast back and made up a lot of lost time.

Climbed Garrowby Hill, highest point in E Yorkshire, ment to do it last year, but never got round to it, last time I cycled up it was in the 70's.

Next stop, Staxton Hill, when I manage to shed off all the mince pies and yule log.

I did 20 miles today, Singleton to Bosham and back. I was going along wondering what all this clipless moment talk is about, thinking I don't seem to have a problem with these, maybe I'm a natural LOL anyway, went to stop at a T junction released my left foot and leaned to the right, bang, hit the ground just by a Southern Water truck with three workers and an old couple pulled up and asked if I was ok and double checked. The bike was fine, I was so cold I didn't feel anything but the bike must have landed on me. My gut had a big blue bruise. Hope that's it, the Mrs thinks I should change the pedals for when I take the bike to London. Yes dear!

Went for a couple of hours around Knockholt and Halstead. When the Sun disappeared, it got a bit parky. Roads are a pothole matrix covered in grit etc.

As usual, got the the first coffee stop without knowing where to go! I decided on the Lam Lukka circuit, not done that for a while - there's about 22 kms of almost empty 8-lane highway at that time of day and a nice, clear run for home from Sukhapiban 5 Road, Sai Mai or at least there was!
I knew that they had built a Carrefour and were building a flyover which I thought would take traffic from Sukhapiban 5 to connect with one of the nearby motorways but how wrong I was! That flyover is for local traffic and there will be a new motorway beneath it so I had to go over the flyover. I hit 47.6 kms going down and then the back wheel started to wobble violently - a p*ncture.
OK, I've got spare tubes, a pump and a Presta/Schrader adapter - pumped the tyre up to about 80psi and would finish the job at a petrol station. I saw a tyre fitting place and tried to pump it up there but the fitter could not get his airline to connect with my adapter and in his attempt managed to mangle the valve so tube number 2 went in - hand pumped it to about 80 lubs per squinch and got home on that.
I also stopped at the 'Last Gasp' petrol station about 3 kms from home for a drink and to get the bike washed (about 75p!). Why the 'Last Gasp'? I called in there on one of my first rides in Bangkok - utterly exhausted, sat down in the picnic area wondering would I have enough in my tank to get me home or should I throw my bike in a taxi, I managed to ride home - eventually!
