200km audax ride on fixed. First event of the year. Not too hilly, though the Chilterns did feature. Weather cold and dry, though the roads were very wet in places. It didn't seem particularly easy.

The Cyclechat Bromley Massive weekely Sunday sojourn into town and back. Myself, Mista Preston (He got to the Dripping Tap before me... wonders will never cease), Arallsopp and picked up on the way, Tollers, looking very proud indeed astride his resplendent new Scott/Super Records 11 machine.... So off to Hyde Park Corner to look for those elusive FNRttC'rs... still none to be found, so took a chance to ink a couple of names onto the travelling CycleChat jersey. (Whoever want's the jersey next, you know where we will be next Sunday..).

Trafalgar Square, the Strand for out usual rest stop at the Golden Arches.. (now known as 'Going for a MacPiss'). Whitehall, Westminster, along Embankment to Tower Bridge, where we said goodbye to Tollers and his White Dream Machine. Rotherhithe, Surrey Quays, Lewisham (Quick stop to help push broken down car out of the main road), Catford, Bromley...And home.

50 miles for the day. It even had some sunshine.. and Arallsopp was in short sleeves for a bit..
See you next week... if no baby!

The first outing since October due to a knee injury sustained running, and the rubbish weather. 18 miles very gentle. I even saw some lambs at Willoughby, South Leics. They must have brought the ewes into season early to be first to the market, even so, week old lambs in January is just wrong.

Family trip for a family ride around Gunpowder Parl, first off put the new front wheel, and replace the rear tyre which had a very cheeky bit of tube peeking out through a nasty slit in the side wall, yikes

pump up and check the three other bikes and stick them into the car, no room for mine, so 7ish miles for me, seemingly all slightly uphill and rather hard work barring a very fast descent down the dreaded Kings Hill erm hill.

Gunpowder Park is rather dull with no cake or tea, return journey stop at the Windmill for Sunday lunch, early misgivings are allayed with two respectable London Prides, an OK roast lamb dinner and rather good rhurbarb and ginger crumble

Home was frankly very fast as it was suddeny all rather decent downhill and two pints of gungho, even the dreaded Kings Hill was tackled with gusto and rewarded with a triumphant ascent and didn't even break sweat

and the lady wife paid for the (slightly pricey) lunch

bloody hell the cc jersey is local, I want some of that, suppose I have to take it out somewhere now then, tsk

Great ride again and great to see Tollers on his new white Super Record CR1 machine.

Weather was a bit brisk at times but after the last hill the sun did shine. London was full of people wanting to get run over again. I made one lady jump pretty high today when she realized she was walking out in front of me and my bike. Plenty of tourists also trying to work out what Arallsopp was (his bike that is). Makes me chuckle everytime.;)

35 miles for me with s significantly higher average speed along with a higher heart rate to boot

Today didn't go to plan... one Garmin 500 & BeOne Race Perl bike to have a 15-20 mile shade down ride with thanks to meeting a friend turned into 86 miles of fast, edgy, aggressive riding with solo brake aways in the most bumpy parts of the landscape around. Great fun but I think I'll be feeling it tomorrow, I feel especially sorry for the what looked to be a club ride which was struggling up a long incline we sprinted passed.

Club Run today went very well apart from the Moulton Man's bike having it's moments and another puncturing. Nice and easy 59 miles with a cafe stop and mega chunks of bread pudding . Cool but no wind and some sun (hurrah). At last things seem to be settling down for regular rides ;)
