40 miles with the club. I've been off the bike with a virus for the last 3 weeks and it was great to be out again. On the other hand it's closer to 4 weeks since I've been out with the club and boy did I know I'd had some time off the bike. I was really suffering on the climbs!

Bit windy, wet & kinda cold. I banked about 20 solo miles before I was overtaken by another solo rider. I realised I could catch him & pass him again... 45 miles latter we're still going at it but I had to break off because I needed to get home.

Then there's the other end of the scale...very light fog and motorists who switch on every available light when it seems so unnecessary.
Just seen this. Personally I'd prefer to have drivers over lit, exempting main beams, to under lit.

Yesterday - grabbed the chance of fine weather for a quick blast between commitments...... 16 hilly miles on my Ribble road bike - funny riding geared again...(commute 5 days a week on fixed) not touched a geared bike for about 6 weeks (crap weather at weekends for them/or too busy)...

Felt like I wasn't going that well, but realised I was riding into a headwind having seen a mini wind power generator going nuts...... speedy return leg....

1 min off my best time for the loop....nice.

fairly lumpy 50 mile [ my fault as ride leader:biggrin: ] club ride into the eastern nether regions of Hereford.... 4 of us, it was cold but splendidly not raining
My steed was the 3 speed Holdsworth that weighs a ton and rolls like a sandwich.....
Henry ran over a squirrel then fell off shortly afterwards in sympathy..

yesterday- first ride out with new 13-29 cassette replacing the 12-23, managed to get up the Portland hill at last :-) Only lost one gear at the top end so a good move with all the hills around here! Did the 10 mile loop up to the Bill and back down to Castletown. New overshoes also came in handy, as a bit on the chilly side. Lovely sunny day tho.

Met my club members at Gosforth, then went to Elsdon, stopped in a little cafe then rode back. It didn't rain but the ground was wet in places. I was the only one who didn't wear overshoes...BIG mistake! My feet were numb for the whole ride! A lesson learned! Done 90 miles in total with an average speed of 17.5. Is that a good average over that distance?

I should say so !!! Ive got to go some to average 17.5 over 45 miles, let alone double that distance.

A faily quick (for me, 1hr 20 and I had to be back home as I am waiting on a delivery) 20 miler today. Was very cold but dry, although seeing the back of my jersey there was plenty of spray. A double trailered artic decided to try and take me out at a set of lights near the start of the journey but other than that not a bad ride. Avg speed of about 15mph and only the fourth or fifth time out on the Boardman Comp 09.

I want to start building up my distances, 40 miles being my furthest so far.

Time to defrost my feet now, brrrrrrrr.

Weird 50 miler today, at every opportunity I took the route with more climbing on it & while I wasn't really trying I managed to average almost 18.5mph. Maybe my legs are still thinking it was yesterday & I was training/competing with the guy from yesterday ;)
