Your ride today.... (part 1)

Short commutes on the hybrid for the last couple of days. Correctly dressed, the colds no problem. Todays ride was a test for the EzFire shifters i replaced yesterday. Some fettling to do so it seems.

Minus 5 C this morning when i set off..probably the same tonight on the way home.

Usual commute this morning. Met up with 515 at the usual time and place. But by God it was a lot colder today. -3c without the wind chill! And I knew I hadn't put enough socks on too.

Seventeen articles of clothing (excluding the thing on top of my head whose name I dare not utter) , and my feet were still frozen after a modest 13 miles. I discovered ice too. Very interesting, but a bit alarming in the dark.

40 miles today mainly on well gritted roads with just a 1/2 mile stretch to the farm which had some drifts across it, but by the end of the day the farmer had been out with the digger and it's all clear.
Didn't see many others out though.

I got dressed for cycling but realised before getting the bike out that it would be foolish to attempt cycling today. Too icy and freezing hard.

Myself and Ilovebikes decided to pootle out to Trafalgar Square and back this morning..in minus temperatures... a tad chilly on the fingers and noses. But a nice quick 40 mile ride with glorious winter sunshine and blue skies. We were also lucky to catch the Changing Of The Guard.

A nice 26 miler & very little on clear roads . A little chilly for my left foot (& only the left ) & the face but otherwise fine. Unfortunately I'm coughing like mad now

Went out this morning for the first time in ages. My god it was great, despite the cold. Was earlish so just stuck to the main roads as heading my usual route into the countryside might have been foolish with the snow. 20 miles only but Loved it!!

3 miles...round and round the field at the back of our house pulling a sledge and my/neighbours kids round...

This was early this morning...we've got blizzard conditions now....had another 4 inches...

I'll be out later/tomorrow doing the same thing......

I turned round halfway today on a trip into town. It'd have taken all day to get there and back. Was good fun on the A62 - very treacherous indeed.
Did get a brew at Dan Bo's out of it though. Ta!

Just under 26 miles today, popped into Kent for a little jaunt round the lanes. Wanted to go out early but didn't chance it as it looked pretty icy. Had warmed up and thawed out by lunch time so off I went. Managed to fit one pair of gloves over another so hands were fine and feet coped for most of it too.

No ride today... bugger. Shed loads of snow and no clear roads for miles! First weekend with no rides since August.

Thirteen miles on the Thames path mainly. A kind man shouted and warned me of the icy conditions. I think he may have been a bit surprised when I cycled back to talk to him. My rather fetching headband may have given him the impression that I was a lady.

I really must work on my image.
