nice dry ride today..... down at Newport velodrome

First try of the track, really enjoyable and exhilarating. Managed to get the hang of riding on the line and dropping in and out of groups without crashing..

My mate pulled his foot out which was amusing, he was shaking for 5 minutes after, I thought he had crashed as he was just behind me and shouted "oh bugger" and there was a noise that sounded like a touch of wheels and he wasn't there anymore... fortunately he kept it together and managed to stop after a couple of laps at the bottom of the track.

I recommend it to those wanting to do something different, the coach was great as well, bike hire and 2 hour coached session..........12 quid, bargain

My ride today started at 10pm, taking about 30 minutes to get me cold, sweaty, muddy and grinning. Love decent lights.

I went for a ride yesterday, with the intentions of climbing a certain hill 3 times, in the end, I did it 4 times but felt that I should and could have done it 5 times but the spirit was weak.

Never slept hardly all night, thinking that I could have done it 5 times, so got out on my bike, and climbed it 5 times, and now I feel at peace with myself.

Armstrong has a lot to answer for with his:-

"Pain is temporary, It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place, If i quit, however, it lasts forever"

Went out after a thunderstorm and headed into the wind. Turned round when it got a bit too black again. didn't really realise how srtong the wind was until i found myself going up the hills almost as fast as i had been coming down.

A little jaunt in the East Yorks countryside, and a Guinness at The Light Dragoon in Etton, on the way back. Very nice.

Quick 12 mile loop. Found myself being virtually run of the road by a prat in a Range Rover on the A34 just past Alderley Edge. Nothing odd about that you may say, but i was in a cycle lane going not much slower than the traffic. Caught him at the roundabout and remonstrated with him. Suggested that as he seemed to like pleasuring himself it would be advisable if he undertook some research as to what a cycle lane is. Not sure it even registered with him why i was angry.

CC Ecosse Rendezvous ride today. Cold/foggy/some evidence of ice, great wee roads and of course great company at the Park Bistro @ Linlithgow. There were 7 of us, 3 from Edinburgh, 2 from Glasgow and 1 each from Stirling & Fife.
62k for me, that's my (modest ) November Cyclogs target achieved
