A one hour blitz around Peterborough after work..quite mild but my toes were already beginning to feel it.
Just got a Met Stradivarius after a colleague was knocked off last week, you'd hardly know you'd got it on. Never was a helmet wearer but after he told me the bang his head made on the car...;) i guess its time to be sensible, specially since he's on an enforced soup and pasta diet now (damaged jaw)

I'm coming down with something ???
Last nights quick hour ride, seemed ok, went to bed and went out like a light.
Woke up this morning and stumbled around, couldnt wake up...felt fuzzy and tired all day at work, did a few miles on the bike to get home...went to sleep.

The rides seem ok, but i'm feeling flat and tired afterwards.

Meticulously cleaned the Bianchi at work, even had the cassette off and cleaned it...only to ride home in the damp ;) hey ho !!!

I had a 40 mile sprint (well, for me it was) chasing some friends round the lanes of Sussex with no rain, no wind and even enough sun to sit outside at the caff.

Went out on my old rigid mtb as it has mudguards. Wished it was dry so i could have been out on the road bike. Only did a short 12 mile loop. Other half thought there was something wrong as i was back so quickly. Note to self get some mudguards for road bike

I ride my road bike on training rides without guards. If you're alone and going to get drenched anyway, does it matter?
If you're not alone then make sure you stay in the front!!

The lanes near where i live and like to ride have a tendency to have horse and cow poo everywhere, on a day like today it tends to turn into a sort of soup. I don't mind getting wet just don't like being splattered with said concoction .

Did my longest ride since starting out with bikes again today. Windy as hell, raining but still enjoyed it. 16 miles and 1400 feet of climbing on my 50lb dutch tank of a bike. At least it has mudguards so my backside stays dry! The biggest injustice was having to pedal all the way down the hill from Emley Moor into the headwind!
20 miles next weekend then. ;)

Second day of ownership.Did about 30 mile round trip: back roads to Hornsea. No big hills, so quite an easy ride. Had lunch and an Amaretto chocolate at me Grandma's house, then biked back. Windy all day, and chucking it down when I got into Hornsea, but loved the ride. Nice crisp and sunny on the way back. Had ten-twelve mile round trip with mates yesterday - so good first weekend. I love my bike.

About 60 very hilly north Worcestershire hills on my Holdsworth 3 speed hackabout.... I am stuffed but a nice windy showery club ride with my mates ;)

Had a big row with an irate farmer in a Landrover who barged past, he got the finger up close and personal.... he leapt out and then realised not only was he out numbered but the guy he squared up to was over 6 foot and looks insane [ sorry Rupert if you read this, but you do look crazed ] so he backed off but was still purple, .... Rupert apologised for the finger .
He was cross about us riding 2 abreast, I pointed out to him that we single out when there is a car behind but he was so impatient that we didn't have chance, he eventually admitted that he was being a bit unreasonable and we parted with a pat on the back and a wave as he went past.. blimey what a stress.. but the ride was splendid apart from that:smile:

Waited all day for the wind to subside...it didnt ;)
So a measly 13 miles tonight, 26mph winds, gusting to 44mph according to the Met office weather page...a bit hairy with the side winds, even in town. Gawld only knows what its like out in the open.
Effortless tailwind sections...virtually blown to a standstill when the gusts hit other way round:wacko:
Winter longs on for the first time, i think they'll see regular use from this point on.
