cycling to work today had barely got out of sight of the drive and hear this horrible snorting sound next to me, i think aye aye, that's something going along at the same speed as me - look round and there's a bloody pit bull chasing me ;) just what you need to wake you up.
Well it looked a lot like a pit bull, could have been a staffy but wasn't taking any chances. In two minds about whether to report it to the boys in blue, 'cos even if it's not a pit bull it's a bit antisocial.

absolutely hooned it home though tonight - 29.67 in 1:28  (strong south westerlies!)

Ride to work this morning......BANG...phtt..phtt...phtt ;)
Bugger, that went down FAST. Walked the rest of the way, thankfully only about a mile.
Ooer..when i checked it out later, NO damage visible to the tyre, but a hole in the side of the tube, just beow the reinforcing round the valve  I seriously wonder if it was a weak spot and just went. Brand new tyre, brand new bike, couldnt repair it, so fitted a new tube i keep at work.

Funnily enough, one of the guys came in with more or less the same scenario...puncture you couldnt explain.
He's just got one of these..

£120 from Toys r us...
Bloody hell...when i took the tyre off....its about 1/4 inch thick, with a schrader innertube...wierd.
Spun the wheel in my hand, and its a bit graunchy. If it was mine i'd adjust it PDQ, but no time...maybe do it for him another day.

Uneventful (thankfully) ride home...gotta get me some Gators on mine, same goes for my 531 rebuild. Never had so many punctures
Makes you realise how well the Gators (and other Kevlar tyres) work.

Nice 20 miles or so today, sunny although bolwy on the outrun, top off to catch some sun on the new bike.
Once again, going out at school run time makes me nervous...bloomin mums hurtling round in their child infested missiles ...ah well, once out of town, all's well.
Dropped into a local small airfied to look at some planes...and regrettably, i dont know why i bother being polite sometimes. Rode up to a couple of guys near some planes...
'Do you mind if i take a photo for my grandson ?'....trying to do the right thing and ask first.
Shrug of shoulders and a disinterested look from the two of them

Ah well, fcuk em...i'll take a piccy anyway...

Miserable gits...what is it with some people ?

we got our third counting ride in the clubs "grand slam" in over the weekend. the 200 miles in 24 hours round kirkby stephen, penrith, keswick then down the lakes in the early hours on empty roads to finish just after dinner.we had a few light showers but nothing too bad for almost all the ride.just about warm enough to stay in shorts over night.we thought we were going to finish in sunshine like last year but got soaked in the last mile or so:angry::tongue:

47.74 miles today. Abit of a hilly one, and a tad windy but was nice. Was determined to do it so i could take my total for the month up to 1000miles:biggrin: Did it and kept a decent average speed today.
Nothing much happened though, was abit quiet and relaxing. Nice ride.
