I think the same thing. He must be on his bike nearly all day. I wonder if he has ever done 2000miles over a month? No real chance of beating him i think. He must fly through components aswell.

joe when do you find time to do these rides lol.

i did a measly 12 miles today although there were a fair few 'undulations' and i am just practising the route for when i commute to school for a couple of days in a couple of weeks.

Not a bad distance to start with Young Un.
As for having the time to ride, having finished my exams i have more time, but still do about the same amount of miles, but go on the club ride on Wednesdays which adds some more distance to my total. Used to do 30miles after school with the club ride on the weekend. Its about time management really, slotting in riding with school work(revising, what is this;)) and being quick enough.
Used to just go out doing a fast-ish 15 after school, but with light evenings, and more knowledge of different routes its easier to go longer distances.

i rekon i could go alot lot further if redditch wasnt so bloody hilly and whereever i go i have to drop of the side of a hill whcih is rather annoying.

i have asked the club for some 10 mile routes which i hopefully will be given on wednesday, and when i am breezing past those i might ask for 20 milers etc, and keep working my way up.

I like the new bike - road bikes don't come much prettier than that! They were probably just jealous and acting cool.

I like it...but with it comes with a certain amount of 'mirth' from 'non believers'

Near home tonight...a chav style woman kinda uttered to her chav friend...'ooooh, thats funky'...
i'll take it as a compliment, but i'm not sure it was

One of the guys at work said... 'that's a girlie colour' (said in a nice mickey taking way)... what does he know, his arse hasnt seen a bike saddle since he was a kid :biggrin::biggrin:

Today was my last day of 12 of work & was determined to get out for a good ride, not been out much on the other days due to too many house jobs off the boss .
Set off about 8.30 & headed down to do the holderness byway loop. About 7 miles from home to join the loop & added about 15 miles to the loop with a trip down to Spurn Point. Short break at the corner cafe outside Withernsea, homemade jam on toast , & then back up home.
68 miles in total & a nice ride, just a little sore & aching now

28.9somthing today. Nice ride, bloody warm, did a few hills and got an 18.something average speed. Topped up tan.
Went over to mates house to get some spacers for the fixed hub. Had a chat and rode home. Nice ride in the coolness. I put my ipod in for the first time today aswell. In the left ear and i was surprised that i could still hear a good amount with my right ear. Not sure on speed or distance for that though.

I was over at Calverton boot sale on Sunday Joe...
A bit late though...all the goodies had gone.
I only managed a new Michelin 700x25 innertube for £1, and a Brooks saddle conditioning kit for £1 too. About 1/4 of the 'paste' has been used, but its all there otherwise. Now all i need is a Brooks saddle :biggrin::biggrin: WTF did i buy that for
Oh yes, and a pair of good condition Vitex 'Look' pedals for £3.

Maybe i shouldnt be telling anyone this.....all the bargains will be gone by the time i get there.

If ever you're riding along and a silver Veccy SRI drives past tooting its horn...its probably me

I think i need to go to that car boot sale:wacko: Could get some good stuff from there by the sounds of it. Clud riding then though, so you might be lucky;)
Only just remembered where i would have been at about 12-1 ish. Along the A6097, between Lowdham and East Bridgeford. You might not of been around then, cant remember what the time was really:wacko:
I'll keep a big sign in the back of my jersey and when i see you, i'll wave it around.

27.5 miles, not too hilly, but felt tired until 5 miles in then speed built gradually. Had headwind for first 15 but hardly any tailwind on return leg?? Sunny at first, showery for last 4 miles. Home safe and well and now it's thundery!!!

BTW, am I the only one out riding???

31.58 miles today. Nice day, got home before it rained. A tad flat, not that windy. Had an Espaniola(spelling?) cuz his trailor in on me:angry: No need for that, i tucked right into the curb and the back missed me by inches ;) Couldnt go in any more or i thing the crank would of scraped the curb, couldnt even bump up on the curb to get out the way. Idiot:angry: Had another truck honk me for some very strange reason. Oh, saw that girl riding on wrong side of the road aswell.

Been lazy lately...not pushing myself and settling for steady rides. Not today.
Quick 18 miles, fairly breezy for 2/3 or the ride and a nice fast section home.

Push up the hills and ride steady for a short time once at the top..i always think you save a lot of time like that.

I got the fright of my life as i swept round a bend into a village...to find myself banked over...going fairly fast...into a newly laid road surface, covered with tons of loose chippings :ohmy:
Straighten up...straighten up....i can see myself going over...gravel rash.. sh1t.. sh1t sh1t :biggrin::biggrin: All of this passed through my mind in an instant.

Made it....thank christ for that

Maybe not fast compared with some here...but i managed an average of just over 17mph. Very happy...at 50, it's hard work to up the average without a lot of very hard work.

25 miles total today...no incidents, no accidents..no thanks to the road re-surfacers ;)
