Did 48 miles at an average of 16.22 which considering I went across Harris End and Oakenclough is not too shabby brew in Scorton before fighting the wind back home again.

My first foray into the N. York Moors from Easingwold to Crayke, on to Coxwold, Kilburn, up the White Horse Bank on to Ampleforth, Wass, Byland and back to Easingwold.

No idea how fast or far but it was a fine afternoon ride.

The new bike seems to be a good 'un.

I forgot to mention the farmers corralling their herd/pack/collection/whoop of ponies along the main road as we arrived at quite a speed around a blind bend! Almost a B.T.M.!

It was a bit of a shock - especially as AP had overshot the bend- he was hoping not to see an oncoming car - but was surprised to see the troop/sqwawk/flotila of ponies!

I wish I was able to tell what our average speed was today - but I was using my new Sigma Rox 9.0, which decides it will zero the trip values if you decide to stop for a quick squirt or bacon sarnie and coffee - stupid or what!!!! After our coffee stop at the compass - get back to the bike and all values (distance -ave speed etc) are zero as if you have just set off - what use is that????

Any ideas chaps........

Have you tried swearing at it? Or have a look on here *warning - bloody annoying website*

Looks like it was a good day out from the photo's. Very nice.

My ride today was a 20 mile round trip to buy some new trolleys, I came home with the ingredients for a couple of BLT's and a few croissants as well.

Much more pleasant than the latter half of yesterdays ride.

Quick trip to Balerno and home via the allotment, nothing stunning but the first time I have been on the bike in weeks (three on holiday (skiing), one off sick)...

oh the language was quite fruity!! Lard and A.P. thought it was very entertaining as their moderately priced computers told them exactly how far they had been.........

Very nice run today - lucky to live in such a pretty part of the world. Gower would make a great sportive but the traffic is far too busy on a Sunday. The Mumbles was grid lock, that would have brought our average speed down by quite a lot - but by exactly how much I couldn't say- humph!!!!!

p.s. Very nice email sent to Sigma..... see what they say - the webiste and manual say nothing on the subject at all! may put the old speedo back on and not use HRM - if i'm breathing then i'm alive - that'l do me!.

wow what a glorious day and so so warm down here in Dorset. Managed to increase my average speed on my mtb by 1MPH today well chuffed!!! and reduce the over time by half an hour, to 3 hours, so things are going in the right direction.

but so so warm my helmet was dripping on up hill sloggs. looks like this here for the rest of the week, YAHOOOOOOOOO!

;)

you can tell i am pleased!

Today's ride was a ride to the sea... or at least to Brightlingsea Creek anyway.

Left home with sunshine and blue skies

As usual the country lanes were pretty quiet.

Took the cheat's way up the hill into Brightlingsea - the cycle/footpath. You know how high the hill is as you can see the church all the way up.

At the top! Another one of the lovely Essex churches, not that I've been inside this one.

Arrived at the boat in Brightlingsea and discovered it was pretty windy at sea level. We decided not to go out for a sail in the end, just did some housekeeping tasks. Bike was locked up to a huge oil tank in the boatyard, I swapped my SPD cleats for Crocs and settled down to some cleaning with occasional breaks. Note the CycleChat buff!

Cycled home which was nice as the wind was behind me. It had clouded over rather but was still a lovely day to be out on the bike. I did a bit of fettling on it yesterday and it was working really well too. A great afternoon's ride!
