It was a great pleasure,BoaB. Really good to meet you at last.

Ich bin Powerfrau!
Stunning weather.

My 8 mile morning ride involves 4 roundabouts and 4 sets of traffic lights. Sailed straight through all the roundabouts (no traffic) and all four sets of traffic lights were green. How often does that happen? Wonderful!

55 miles - tough but great fun - kept up with cat 2 riders (though I was slightly more out of puff)
Some bigguns of hills!
Oh and a clipless moment at a junction infront of most of the 22 riders who turned up.

The landslip is a lot easier to pass than last year when the trees and bushes were still in place. A mate and I took a sign posted diversion to avoid the landslip and managed to end up about 50 metres closer to Whitby than when we started the the diversion. It was a strange feeling - we think we were abducted by aliens as we could not explain the strange relocation.......

We ignored the diversion for our second attempt to get to Scarborough and had to squeeze through a narrow gap through the trees and bushes that had keeled over with the landslip.

Did exactly 50 miles today. (we had to go up and down the street twice to make it an even 50). We were joined by a new riding buddy Allda Pies for the first of hopefully many.

Four of us set off Fairweather, Tall Paul, Allda Pies and yours truly. We headed off onto the Gower Peninsular via the "North Road". Between Crofty and Llanrhidian we passed 515mm and Little Miss on their way round as well. They were taking the short route so Tall Paul said he would wait for them in Llanrhidian and go back to Swansea with them.

The view T.P.had whilst waiting for the "Turks"

So the three of us carried on to Llanmadoc and the Brit, which wasn't open till 12!

So it was up Col d'Brit and onward to Rhossili. We saw quite a few other roadies out and about on our way there.

Fairweather and Allda Pies arriving.

It had been a few years since A.P. had been down there and he was quite taken with the view.

So it was then back the way we came until we got to........

for a well deserved bacon sarnie and a coffee. Still only halfway though.

So up over Cefn Bryn, up over Fairwood common, double back to Kittle and Bishopston, through Murton and down to Limeslade, then Mumbles (which was a mistake as it was absolutely heaving with traffic to match.) and finally back to Gowerton.

Weather was fantastic and so was the company and banter.

I did a quickish 68 miles today 16.7 mph, looking at the Garmin Stats, I was 19.1mph for the 5th 10 miles (40-50mlies). My route was a bit flatter than usual, only 3,464ft of climbing; with the only big climb being Gloom Hill (Dollar). I could have done with the summer bike though, the rods were in great condition.

Edit: great pictures Lardyboy :wacko::smile:
