First MTB club night ride last night - nice and warm, stayed dry, started outside Accrington, a steep climb then and took the King's Highway, a very ancient packhorse trail over into Rossendale Valley, then some lanes and eventually picked up the old railway at Hollands pies (nice smells) which took us back down into Accy again. All in all a top ride using a combination of routes I hadn't done before in near perfect conditions with no delays or mechanicals.

Last commute for a week...off to Cyprus for work. The nearest i'll get to a ride is at the factory i'm going to, they have a couple of probably 1950's or 60's Rudges (IIRC) they ride about on. I always have a play when i'm there .
Its about 20 degrees there :wahhey: I'll be thinking about you

took the mtb out today (it was that or summer bike, and it was wet) for the commute. pleasant enough ride, other than not having a gear that allows me to pedal when the road goes about 1° downhill (needs new rear mech cable).

35 miles windy & pretty yuck really,, had a brush with a van i think it was his nearside wing mirror that hit me. Loads of those crocus flowers and daffs coming out..spring is nearly here.

No energy today in my legs and a splitting headache from overwork (what, me???) I thought the cycle ride might blow the headache away but the band of my cycle helmet was just tight in the same spot so it didn't. I may have to resort to paracetamol now if I'm to continue working this evening.

Nice skies, as BOAB said lovely spring bulbs beside the road, but a little too much wind and I just feel tired. Too many miles this month probably, but somehow I just want to keep going!

Nice and fresh this morning out to Lancaster Uni over Forest Hills across the Quernmore stopped off for a brew in Scorton before fighting the headwind back to Blackpool.

Best of all the knee warmers were off after 10 miles and it was my first ride this year in shorts, summers coming.

27 miles tonight. Pleasant and relatively warm considering the breeze.

3rd ride of the year, average 13.9 mph... efforts must be doubled!

it must have warmed up a bit as i arrived at work a sweaty mess, despite riding a bike that has only three gears, pootle, hill, alp d'huez…
It certainly has but part of my sweat was when I was overtaken by a rider who just sat in front of me; I couldn't resist :blush: and promptly accelerated from 15mph to 23mph and once I was going fast I just kept on going.

My quest for stamina continues. 88 miles for me this morning. Legs felt okish, but neck and shoulders giving me serious grief. Got caught out in heavy fog in the peaks without lights, was pretty hairy. Lesson learned!
