A breezy 32k for me today with a few laps down at the Velodrome at the halfway point.

It was soooo much fun

I now wish I'd worn my CC shirt but I didn't fancy looking like I might know what I was doing.

Right up the top of the banking several times

Sneaky - getting practice in......not even got my fixed yet - at least a month away.....;)

30 slow miles for me toady (15 mph average), went out with the slower group because I raced yesterday. Was still wuite pleased though as it was probably my hillest route to date, in terms of hill length and hill steepness, and I seemed to be absolutely flying up the hills.

Probably the slowest 73 miles of the year out to Belmont and Rivington. Caught the lot on Belmont hefty side wind, hail and sleet lots of surface water meant we were soaked to the skin by the time we got to Rivington was pleased to be climbing helped warm up frozen feet despite overshoes. Not the fastest descent stopped at the Chapel Tea Rooms topped up fought a strong headwind most of the way back to Blackpool

Did the Snowdon Bike Hike on Saturday, 30 miles. The weather was light rain followed by heavy rain, I got soaked. I got up the Llanberis Pass in one go though, pleased with that !

First commute on the fixed conversion into a west 24 headwind. Looking forward to the ride home.

How windy!

Did 35 miles today, rather truncated due to a puncture (no surprise as I picked two hawthorn thorns out of the tyre). This was a mile and a half from home so I zoomed home at high(ish) speed with the tyre initially remaining mostly inflated; the last quarter mile was a lot more uncomfortable, however. I have taken the wheel off the bike and left it in the kitchen in the hopes that my lovely husband will feel inspired to mend it!

The wind was SO strong today. At one point on my ride I was pedalling like fury along a fast dual carriageway and doing 7mph; on the way home I was lazingly sitting back on the trike, barely turning the pedals, and doing 23mph. I enjoyed that leg of the journey more!

And it's my 1000th post!

Today was the first day of my Half Ironman 20 week programme - although the first couple of weeks are in fact less than I usually do!

Dropped car at garage 11km away but cycled back the 26km hilly option, then 11km this afternoon back to collect. And off for a swim tonight.
