First fixed 100 miler today

From home to Deepdale then out to Knott End and up via Glasson to Lancaster, along the prom from Morecambe and a quick 10 miles round local lanes to reach the magic number to finish in Carnforth.

Bath then pub for a quiz and hotpot with red cabbage

Nice.

The sun even came out for a couple of hours and I was in 3/4's and mitts all day .

Nice one longers.
All week I have had nice commutes. Under an hour, hour + a bit - in the dry and warmer weather. Not much of the headwind stuff either so I'm very content.
Happy weekend rides everyone, except the injured of course, who are wished a speedy recovery.

Had a nice chat with a guy i'd never seen before on a Boardman roadbike, rode past him reasonably easily, but then he came alongside when i stopped at some TL's. We both looked at each other, and said amost as one..'nice bike mate'
Rode and chatted for 10 minutes, then seperated...
Extended commute roday, but i'm fed up of sub 15 to 20 milers...i want some decent mileage, but just dont seem to have the time lately.

Just commuted home from work its very rare but there was no wind howling along the front so straight down the Prom I came spinning along at 26mph really nice.

101km solo this morning in 3:35 averaging 28.1km/h with 1200m of climbing.
Selly Oak-Droitwich-Alcester-Henley in Arden-Hockley Heath-Holt End-Kings Norton-Selly Oak.

It feels good!!

I ended up going out with the 9:45 club run (I meant to go out with the slightly faster 9:40 but started talking to a mate and missed that ;)). Including the bit at either end it was 54 miles. It was quite a fast ride and we averaged 18.7mph until the warm down. Somebody made the mistake of telling me to go to the front up the long hill, I got back to quite a few comments about that section being fast

Was on the 9.40 club run this morning . At the Dalkeith shake out, I decided to go with a group of about 14 riders who were heading over to Gifford, tackle some hills and have some different scenery than the standard Sat run. It was a good run, a steady pace, some hills left me hurting and we then ran a fast chain back into Tranent. A good solid ride - I clocked up 53 miles.

Funny that's what I was talking to my mate (Dave) about we both fancied the 9.40 but the 9.45 sometimes goes up the hills and we like hills too. By the time we had finished talking the 9.40 was gone

Awful , Our first 'club' ride. Went out with two new lads who were very fit and at least 25 years younger than me and Dave.

A trip to Knaresbrough.Weather cold and a bit wet.35 miles. But coming back just had nothing in the legs.

Knee was ok and didn't feel too tired but just could not turn the legs round.

Was at the back ,well back all the way home.

Need to go out on my own and bulid up again. But not been out really since November.

Positive can only get better.

I got up early this morning and did a quickish 16miles (1h2min), it had rained a bit more than I thought last night and it was still spitting this morning but the roads were nice and quiet. Just changed into my older cycling clothes to go out wit SPOKES on their ride, it'll be a very much more sedate pace.

40 miles today, some idiot drivers though. All three of them passed me dangerously going up the 15% switchback style hill, one driver cut arosss the corner blocking a driver coming downhill - the driver in the car just looked at me and we were both astonished, good to see some drivers have some sense! apart from that though a good ride, felt really fresh and pretty warm with the sun out - the tan lines are re-emerging from the winter hibernation! that takes the weeks riding to around 100miles
off to clean the bike - its really dusty today
