Another bloody turbo day - the fifth on the trot. I am getting bored of looking at the tele while sweating like a pig!! So 5 hours of pushing the pedals going nowhere and I think tomorrow will make it the sixth day.

I'm not a fan of the mountain bike but it has to be said it was required today. I did about 25 miles, mostly canal bank and off-road but the middle bit took me over Weets Hill. The snow and ice were bad on this hill, being thick and deep in parts. There were times I had one foot in the pedal and one pushing along on the ground! Still, thanks to my new exercise programme focussing on balancing, I never fell off once. It was bitter, bittet cold though and my chin, finger tips and toes were quite painful.

Just got in from a 60 miler round in south Worcestershire and bits of Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.. not much ice but ended up with a massive sprint pileup with one of my mates..he stood on the pedals to go for a charge for the 30 sign, his gears slipped then his brake lever snapped off!!!!;):blush::smile: cut sideways across my line and rammed me off into the ditch.. I think I have a cracked rib or 2, I went back first into a tree and the bars hit me in the chestxx( . ......... hole in my knee from the chainring [ it's now bent:laugh: ]]]... bust the pump as well.. big crash, the guy behind was well impressed:biggrin:

Riding the last 10 miles was a bit unpleasant, I am now off to inspect the injuries... the missus might take me to A and E when she gets home from work, now where did I put the codeines????

Ouch sound eventful, to say the least bonk man; I hope things turn out ok.

My better bike is in the shop and there was no way I was exposing the summer bike so it was a short 36 miles on my commuting hybrid to the village of 'Blairingone'. Took the wrong road coming back I should have stuck to the main road for another mile , and it was pretty icy in patches, I was glad I had my hybrid then with its massive 37mm tyres. Fortunately the road was very quiet and I was able to weave across the road when neccessary and only time I couldn't avoid it (the whole road was covered) was on a steep uphill so I was going very slow and I was able to control it.

Quick 18 miles today...set out to do more, but i've just replaced the seatpost...and set it a bit higher ..a bit too high as it turned out. Too much stretch on my back, too much pressure on the arms  Bloody uncomfortable.
Lovely and sunny, maybe 2 or 3 degrees, roads are clear, but everywhere else is white, beautiful.

My average speed really suffers in the winter..i just dont seem to have any go  Still, nice ride anyway.
