Loads of standing water and chuffing strong headwind all the way in this morning gusting to 40 mph. Lets hope it stays the same for the ride home

Bloody horrid are the first words that come to mind...I set out on the same loop as we did on the Saturday CC ride, got as far as the humpty bridge which was underwater....so I had to ride back a couple of miles against a terrible head wind and uphill...so I think I'll be clever and take a cut back...besides it would mean 4 miles downhill mostly with a strong tail wind....great....but you guessed it, at the end of that road the road was flooded (about 3' deep)...no way through, even th e4x4's were turning round....so back up another bloody long hill against the wind. All this with a stinking head cold still (you listening BK?:blush:)...I ended up having to go back around the way I had come...cold, wet, dark WINDY and floods all over.
Other than that it was fun:laugh:

Went for an extended commute tonight, hoping to get a 20 in maybe...fat chance.
Too much compacted slush still about once off the roads, too hard trying to make any headway, the rivers alongside my route's beginning to flood. Wrong bike to go anywhere on the roads...oh sod it

Just a 7 or 8 miler then

Bit of a headwind and drizzle on this mornings commute, this evening was much better, though still a little windy, so added 5 miles* to my usual commute home..

*nothing to do with cycle logs

No idea! I know the climb up to the wizard is that hill in the background!

Yup - the thatched cottages on the right, turn right at the junction - either go for Swiss Hill or the Wizard.... This road is on most of my loops - lots of very nice houses round there........

30 mile loop for me this morning. Nice atmosphere when I got away from the commuting traffic.

Legs are really sore already:angry:

Same old commute again today, just over 15 miles in all. Got caught in the rain this morning, funny thing is felt as though the rubino pros were faster in the wet, either that or I just wanted to get out of the rain.

Cold, sunny, northerly wind, blue skies, icy in places...just the one near death moment today courtesy of dosey idiot pulling out in front of me without looking at all....25 miles....to cold for any more so wimped out in favour of tea and a sandwich.

Cant wait for spring to arrive

The world is a better place for a bit of sunshine. Unfortunately saw a cyclist down in Kentish Town this morning, awaiting the ambulance (he was sitting up after a while) and cycled past the growing memorial to a fatality in Notting Hill a week ago. Tonight I might stop and take a photo as reminder - it's hard to see how a major smash can happen on that stretch unless someone jumps.;)
Otherwise - I like these chilly 'n bright mornings - 28km of pleasure...'just think of the train, think of the train,thinkofthetrain,thinkofthetrain...'xx(

Bit of an extended commute tonight, thankfully before the snow came down here. I go the wrong way home from work...do a loop, then home. I saw one of the guys at work as i turned round...he looked at me as though to say...huh  Some people just dont get it...they cannot concieve why anyone would cyce further than they need to.

Be careful out there tomorrow if you ride....its absolutey treacherous out there now, and thats in a car. Very slippy slidy. Managed 15mph maximum over a 10 mile drive
Determined to go by bike tomorrow anyway...havnt lost a days commute yet this winter.

Well, tomorrow (yesterday ) wasnt as bad as i thought...plenty of slush and ice, but manageable.
Usual extended commute...not many miles but better than nothing, its bloody hard to motorvate yourself to go out after you've got home.

Lovely out here this morning, quick ride into work and pick up some tools. Suns shining, its actally warm on your face. Be a good day for a proper ride. Fat chance till tomorrow.....visitors today.
