a typical Mr. and Mrs ride. 15 miles at a pace that can be described as stately, punctuated by two stops at cycling shops for purchases of cycling clothing. That Matthieu at Evans in Clapham North is soooooo ready with the charm when The Babe comes into the shop, and he's right. She'd buy the rack if I let her.

A 102km loop from York back to York via Stamford Bridge and Pocklington and lap to was done in the reverse direction. It was windy at times which slowed my down but I managed to polish it off in less tahn five hours of pedalling time. Had a nice leisurely lunch beak at a friends at Pocklington.

All in all a nice day out and the most invigorating of the four audaxes ridden this month.

28 miles this morning..not too bad out there.
2 degrees, 17 mph N easterly winds, light snow whowers...yet a nice ride, where i didnt get overly cold, or tired against what seemed like headwind whichever way i seemed to go

For anyone that knows the area..Showground, Elton, Wansford, a short section of the A47, on to Helpston, Marholm..quick stop at the cematorium to visit my bro's memerial, Bretton, down to Ferry Meadows then home.

Properly dressed, this weathers no problem.

Set off to pick up Bike from work (Came home sick Thursday)
Forgot to take my bag (Duh) so had to use what I had in my locker which was my Long Bottoms (Luckily) and I wore my combats over these tucked into socks !
Had no headgear apart from Helmet and just a long sleeved top, gloves and Windproof jacket.
As I was about to leave it started snowing quite heavy so I tootled off. Rode as fast as I could to keep warm and managed to get home 3 mins quicker than normal and average about 1.5mph more too.

Also managed 42mph down the big hill - Eyes were streaming !

No ride today - two hours on the turbo trainer!

Did a leisurely 10 mile circuit today, enough to secure a place on Page 1 of the Leaderboard at Cyclogs. I'll enjoy it while it lasts 'cos it won't last long.
Saw another cyclist, the same one I saw yesterday but today she was going in the opposite direction.xx(

As usual these days only two of us were brave/mad enough to venture out this morning. Did see quite a few other cyclists out and about including a promising youngster from a local club, (hello H. if you're watching) plus a number of idiotic drivers!

We were going to see if we could complete a quick 20 mile loop but Fairweather lost the feeling in his toes after 8 miles so we took the first opportunity to take a short cut back. We still did over 400m of climbing though, which doesn't seem a lot, but considering the wind we faced and the cold, I was quite happy to get two mugs of coffee and two slices of home made fruitcake down in chez Fairweather.

got the "other" (see sig) bike out for today's commute, nice low pressure knobblies coped well with the snow. only snag was the fact that having not been used for a while, the rear mech cable had gone slack, so i had no gears for the downhill or flat parts.

Snow here this morning...got the Trek hybrid out....bugger, tyres flat. Pumped it up and left for 10 mins...seemed ok, so set off for work.
1/4 of the way there, flat ;). Tried pumping it up, but no good.
A snowy walk to work this morning
