13 miles commuting today...one of those days when you arrive back home early, feel buzzing and just want to go for some more.
Rush hour traffic very well behaved...once again, i'm never quite sure whether its because drivers in Peterborough have improved, or because my road positioning has improved.
Does anyone else do this...i'm occasionally aware that perhaps my positioning left me open to potential probems. You get away with it 99% of the time of course, but it just goes to show...keep your concentration in traffic.

Last cycle commute of the week.
Like RichP I fear I am also now not for long in this world. Infection, amputated finger then death.

Last cycle commute, ever CofG!;)

Still we had a good innings, eh?

I really got some motivation going today and did 62.66 miles , Kingston to Windsor and back via Virginia Water , then a lap round Richmond Park , and a little detour near home to push the total up above the 100 km mark.
T'was cold and windy out there but on the plus side , it is a fairly scenic route and I got some pleasing wildlife sightings.
Just don't ask how long it took me !

Did a 62 mile ride in the cold and ice. It was quite enjoyable. What I can't figure out is why having done a distance 5x longer the speed is actually faster than my training loop and faster than a ride I did last year that had miles fewer traffic lights and was much flatter. Cycling makes no sense.

36 miles today with nice dry roads... can definitely feel the 'russian snow storm' coming though. Last weekend I was riding without gloves, today my hands felt cold through my windproof gloves!

Wow. Some of these distances are unbelievable compared to my measly 13miles/day round trip commute. Do you take food with you, or money to buy something to eat? bottle of water at least, right?

no they must take sleeping bags and tents I should think!;)

16 steady miles this afternoon. Not sure if its going to be too wintry tomorrow, so just a quick 'round the block' kind of ride. Colder that its been lately...think i saw a Tawny Owl sat in a field a few hundred yards away. Too far to make it out in the few seconds i had as i passed, but the distinctive shape of an owl.

Three of the usual suspects (self included) did a 40 mile loop, taking in the cafe at Middle Barton and the now celebrated Cafe de la Poste (the former post office) in Chadlington. Our informal leader was definitely on a mission today, setting a rather brisk pace in some stiff, wintry headwinds, but it was a very pleasant, bright and dry day.

16 hilly miles in 54 mins....hard work going out - very blustery once I climbed into the hills, but a rather fast return - steady 30 mph through my village (with tail wind) - slowed by the cars......
