Came across this large fungi on a tree stump while out walking the dog today. Tree stump must have been best part of 3 feet across; so the largest part of fungus you can see is probably over a foot wide. No idea what it was mind. Unusual to me at least though 😳

There were lots of Speckled Wood, must be a fresh hatch

Saw a red admiral at 400 masl near Malham. Surprised seeing one so high in October. Still a few swallows as well.

The Fungi Coprinus comatus or so called shaggy ink cap, lawyer's wig or shaggy mane. About 20 of these have sprung up in the 'green zone' between our development and the road.
