First arrival today was a starling closely followed by a blackbird

Female Blackbird, usually trusting, is still camera-shy, so here's a photo of a male Siskin, taken a few minutes ago through our dirty window!
(Female Blackcap is still visiting frequently, sampling peanuts this morning as a change from sunflower hearts.)

Today on my ride I saw a barn owl and a pair of copulating kestrels.

It's one of the great things about bumbling along and watching nature , I had a jay fly across in front of me this morning on a quiet lane

Spotted and snapped by our son near Powderham during our ride yesterday.

He's very good at spotting creatures I would miss.

I think this is a black tailed godwit.

Garden birds have been fed and first arrival today was a solo blackbird.

Female Blackbird was less wary of the camera than usual. She's very trusting of me, but only when I'm not pointing a camera at her!
