Ashley is on the way.

We need grimmer, earthier names for these storms.

Ashley, conjures up images of pretty women in Laura Ashley frocks and definitely not those of yet more horrendous soul-sucking wind & rain.

Actually, Storm Soul Sucker would be a better name as a starter for ten...

That's coming tomorrow, not looking forward to that.
From what I've heard about the forecasted high winds ,I will move the car away from neighbors loose fence panels.

Good call, I’m going to bring the bin into the garage, otherwise it might hit next doors car if it gets gusty

Soon i hope,my son has just had his front bedroom walls damaged by a leaking gutter. The bedroom which i painted two weeks ago,the one with a new carpet and bed and everything else.i have never seen internal rain damage, two inches wide about four foot long. The gutter is not fastened to next doors gutter they both have a stop end.Plus the pointing is crap.So it looks like heavy Manchsyter rain has hit both stop ends and overflowed settling into the brickwork and through the pointing.just this morning a chap has been round to see and quote for the job.Welcome Son to the trials and tribulations of house owing and putting right all the jobs the sheetheads should have done to maintain the property.

Not a bad ride today. Started out drizzle / light rain that wasn't so bad - main thing was it wasn't cold. Then a huge downpour for 10-15 mins. Then more drizzle And after that pleasant with blue skies.

I really don't like starting a ride in the rain. I feel like an idiot. Getting caught in the rain is fine, could happen to anyone. But to actually set out on a ride - a recreational ride at that - in the rain. To get up at 6am and look out of the window and, rather than going straight back to bed, to say "it's pissing down, I'm off out on my bike". Surely only a complete idiot would do that.

Lovely sunny afternoon ride today. 22 miles, which may not seem much, but it is the first time over 15 miles since my accident in August.

Dry here the last few days, just a bit of a drizzle now and again.
There must have been heavy rain overnight, because my morning commute was full of puddles.
The wind started to get strong yesterday evening, but calm now.
I didn't go for a ride today, because I helped fitting a kitchen instead

The north east gets the edge of the storm a.m. tomorrow.

Apart from that there are lots of fine, mild and windy days ahead. With wind I often choose to shelter along the main coast to coast track.

Horrible morning already here on the Costa Clyde. Wind about 45mph (apparently), heavy rain, and very dark. Only going to get worse as the day goes on, with winds peaking at 65mph gusts sometime around 6pm before it starts to ease overnight. Praying that my roof can withstand it, as previous experience has shown it gets a bit fragile in winds over 50mph.. Anyway, a day for some domestic chores. Yawn.
