Fogle isn’t Scottish, so not very surprising about his view.
Oliver is beyond salvation.

I know. But he felt like sticking his oar in, as did a lot of others.

My wife is watching The Midwife.
That turgid monologue that sits in the background, the old lady, slightly shaky voiced, using language that doesn't exist anymore, like they're all very properly spoken, the languid music in the background....ughhhh, I guess it's supposed to hark back to former times, but it's just plain depressing.

Series 5 of Dr Who (2005) - The Matt Smith one. For people complaining the new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa was too 'fun' its worth remembering Matt Smiths first episodes are also very fun (with a suitable splintering of menace). Though I think this is about to change as there is a 2 parter starring The Weeping Angels to watch next!

It'd be interesting to know how children view Dr Who nowadays. I remember Patrrick Troughton, there was menace, it was serious, the Cybermen used to genuinely scare me ( I was a kid remember  )

Nowadays (and I know it's not aimed at 60 odd year olds), it just seems so flip and silly.

On a screen of some kind I'd imagine.

(I'll see myself out).

They probably see it the same way. We all reach a certain age where stories don't affect us in the way they used to. The old ones are silly too, it's just... we remember being affected by them in childhood so can still relate to that feeling re-watching them in adulthood.

Are you here all week?

We have been watching Traitors

We don;t normally watch that sort of thing but it does become rather addictive

we keep having to pause it to discuss what xxx should have done and why that was a mistake

but - honestly - some people need to get a dictionary and look up what the word "Fact" means
it does not mean "vague concept that complies with my opinion"!!!

last night they actually came up with a proper fact - Harry and his shield and who he had told about it - but just bent it round to suit their pre-conceived opinions about people

and often they actually banish a traitor and celebrate, but it is for the wrong reasons but re-enforces their opinion that they are brilliant

like I said - addictive

and yes - I could do SO much better!!
(naturally this is a known fact so I will not apply just in case it gets disproved!!!)
