SLightly off topic - but I saw an article about people being "shocked" by a change to the format of teh final this year

becuase - after all - the programme has been running for SOOOOO many series

the change was

now hold onto you socks now

they did it indoors instead fo outdoors
and had teh fire in the middle of the table

SHOCK HORROR

anyway - lots of complaints about the change and how shocking it is

and lots of people asking WHY OH WHY OH WHY - or something like that

err -people - it is filmed in the North of Scotland - a country not really renounced for it's reliably warm dry weather

it is just possible it was bloomin' raining or too damn cold!!!!

and I'm sure H&S were all over the safety of the damn fire!!

honestly - some people!!

Yeah I presumed it was raining that night.

Finished True Love last night. Ended up being a bit disappointing after a really promising start. I could see where they might try taking a second series, but my enthusiasm for that would be somewhat limited.

I agree to an extent

it was brilliant at the start

but in my opinion if dropper down to "very good" by the end so there is hope - as opposed to some series that drop through the floor

we shall see

Yeah, I think that's fair. I suppose it just went in the opposite way I was hoping, but still a really good watch overall.

Just imagining some American country buying the concept and turning them into an old person's version of the "A" team flying around the country helping sick people shuffle off!

sorry - I just have these thoughts - maybe I should seek help!

Haha, we thought that they could have done that...

Phil and David join forces and go on a pensioner slaying rampage in Marbella!

Trigger point series 2 (ITVX)

Once you get over its all massively unfeasible etc etc and "that just wouldn't happen", its damn entertaining and fast paced.

Yes, I try and enjoy programmes for the pleasure and excitement they bring rather than over analyse them. I thought it was quite good too.

I agree that you have to suspend belief with some series
With some programmes it is easier than others - some are a pretty big stretch!!!

I just put them in the same category as Sci-fi

We've just started watching Jonathan Creek from the start; I'd seen them all before years ago but my partner hasn't. They come across very dated now but still good clean fun. Easy to watch if you don't want anything too heavy or serious.

GoT we're on season 2 but I'm struggling to make time for it in my life. It's the sort of thing I'd have to really get into and binge watch...but it hasn't grabbed me in that way which I'm a bit sad about.

I tried really hard to like JC, being an Alan Davies fan; but he just never worked for me as an actor. It was probably quite a nice little program otherwise, but I never warmed to the central character! [Whereas I can watch other paper-thin nonsense like All Creatures till the ... er ... cows come home!]

Invasion (Apple TV)... an excellent sci-fi series if you prefer the more cerebral/personal approach rather than loads of aliens and lots of flash-bang-wallop. Gonna watch the last two episodes of series 2 tonight.

The local news.

At the old Chez Drago the TV aerial pointed the wrong way so I got SE local news, but not my own.

At the new Chez Drago it points in the correct direction and I'm revelling in seeing what happened round the corner and not 140 miles away in Margate.
