I might have to pick out a few episodes I remember to watch again, some specials others just normal -

  • Airplane Crash - Think it lost flaps and landed to quickly and skidded off end of runway
  • Daddy Big and Daddy Little - I was a bit too young to really understand it at the time but it was about child abuse and I think I'd understand it better now
  • Grafiti Broken Arm - Bit of a love triangle where 2 grafiti artists are competing for a girl, and one of them ends up falling from a bridge
  • Boat Blow Up - Theres a fire/explosion on a pleasure boat, involved an early sighting of a car phone which I found quite interesting
I'm into Classic Corrie myself, its funny watching it back and realising actors with minor roles later often come back as someone else in a a bigger role. Maureen Lipman was a very funny wanabe landlady for a few episodes years before she comes back as a completely different person.

Yes I have already seen some who I know come back as different characters later.

Anyway, one episode I remember, which was on the other day there actually was when the builder got covered in hot tar because they were being worked in an unsafe worksite to save money. The site gaffer (played by James Cosmo) then tried to bribe the guy to keep his mouth shut, but his wife was having none of it.

There were others, including the plane crash (still to come on, so I don't think you've missed it yet) and then one where a boy at boarding school committed suicide after being bullied. Hanged himself. I never fully understood that one because I was too young, but I got the jist of it.

Another one that I remember fondly. Yes it was much better in those days, more gory. The first time I was allowed to stay up and watch it, I think there was a fire/explosion on a narrowboat and you saw some narly burns.

James Cosmo, wow that's quite a catch for a sat teatime soap. The episode is A Grand In The Hand.

Don't know if there's a specific reason, but Auntie are running looooots of old "classic" comedy now. I watched the first "Alas Smith and Jones" with some trepidation .... and to be honest, it wasn't bad! I laughed several times. Not as radical as NT9oCN, but some good stuff in there.

I have the NTNoCN DVD, funny but dated as it was topical way back then. Still love Gerald the Gorilla and that 'wild...?..I was...line.....

What a place!
Proving how good bullet-proof clothing is, by being shot with a .38 handgun, from about 2 foot away!

Explaining how Cocaine is produced
Meeting Pablo Escobars nephew

I’m not certain if it’s a 2, or 3, parter

The one I saw today was 'Union', episode 49. The farmer who is shot only re - appears as a consultant a few years later. Also the guy who accidentally punched his 'son' (turns out he isn't) at a boxing club in yesterday's or the day's before episode, causing a tooth to become lodged in his lung is, I am sure, the big Welsh Porter guy with the beard who was later in it for ages. He also appeared in it again a few years later before he became the aforementioned Porter.
I have seen others too.

Also, in Holby City, the actress who later played the main character of acid tongued Dr 'Jack' Nailer was originally portrayed as a drug addict.
I much preferred 'City' by the end, which makes them axing it and keeping the complete and utter pish that Casualty now is, all the more baffling.

Hugh Quarshie who later played Dr Rick Giffin, that's another - He was some sort of youth worker at a home or club for deliquent kids at one point.

Things like Eastenders are the same, you see minor characters who then come back later as someone else entirely.

I need to catch up with that, like GM and love South America.

We Hunt Together on iPlayer.
Mismatched cops hunting mismatched killers. Very entertaining.

And something called the Power of Parker on BBC. A bit like Dinner Ladies kind of humour from the star and writers of Car Share.
