Well spotted!

This one has been the go to bike of late!

The Cannondale must feel neglected! Not to mention the focus!

I brought this one to show my dad as he's not seen it before. It suits the conditions as I'll ridden on a few trails down here.

Brilliant ! You obviously must ‘love’ it too. Continue to enjoy 👍

I’ve got some ‘nice’ bikes. Nothing compared to many here; but modern, light and a joy to use. With that comes an amount of expense. And then worry over leaving around unattended etc

My next purchase (Been looking a while - nothing locally come up yet 🙁) will be a sub £100 ‘something’ with wheels and that can be propelled forward, used, abused and left around with virtually no concern over what happens next. A LOT to be said for that…..

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Some work on Friday and Saturday before my back decided it didn't like me ...

The Peugeot Optimum had a new Sunrace bottom bracket plus a used Shimano 105 crank. I dismantled and cleaned both the chainrings I'd removed from the stuck Peugeot cranks plus the 105 crankset which had come off my now-gone Olagnero, then chose the 105 ones as the 52-42 looked better than the pre-existing 53-42 chainrings.

All done, with some adjustment to the front derailleur needed:

Due to space limitations I'll stick it on eBay and see what happens, although the market for old 531-framed road bikes isn't great at the moment ...

Also, the new mech hanger for the Viner Mitus I'm building as a winter 2023/24 bike arrived, so that went on along with derailleurs plus an Ultegra crankset. Saddle and bars adjusted to more my fit, although the saddle probably will be swapped for a Bontrager Paradigm instead. Shifters are still to do however I'd like to find something better than the 105 5800 pair I have; preferably Ultegra if I can source a reasonably-priced set.

I know it's not most people's idea of a 'winter bike', but I'm a dinosaur who prefers rim brakes. Or rather, someone who has a new rim-brake wheelset waiting to be used.

I've got too much rim brake stuff in the bits box to use up yet. I have finally got to the point where all my wheels are in use though.

On my ridgeback I have steel forks would changing to carbon improve the ride?

Finding threaded carbon forks is tricky though!!
