Splurged out on Banana Industries sale by buying a heap of knocked down socks, a few cafe bike locks, new sunnies for 2025 season and a carabiner hook which I currently have no use for apart from fidgeting with until I work something out.

I bought some sunnies too. I wear prescription glasses which I usually get online. I saw they had a sale on so grabbed 2 x pairs of standard distance glasses to my prescription . And added a pair of super large framed sunnies which I’ll dedicate to Summer cycling duties only. From my history: I see I’ve bought 18 pairs from the same people over the years (Goggles4you.co.uk) and I’ve had no issues with the quality of the glasses or the prescription.

This time 3 pairs of prescription glasses, premium lens coatings etc, delivered to my door were just £33 and a few pence in their sale 😳

Another Banana Industries splurge here.

Pair of 700x 23c-30 Pirelli tubes
Pair of 29 x 2.4-2.6" Pirelli tubes
Above tubes 2 quid a pop ... each!

A similar splurge on the Banana Industries stuff; Wilier pedals, a stack of water bottles, some sprays, a chain and a couple of other bits.

Also a pair of Raceblade Long mudguards.

And a Conti GP5000 ST R tyre.

Finally, a hardly used pair of Specialized Defroster MTB boots to replace the Lake ones which had a BOA dial go on one side and the entire screw thread snap on the other.

After a prolongued Internet hunt for suitable 100/135mm disk wheels I went with a Shimano factory Wheelset. Only 19mm internal width but only £42 and only 1.8 KG Shimano XT 622 x 19 WH M8000

A couple of days ago I picked up this Bontrager 31.6 x 400mm seat post. Both items set aside for a Gen1 Cotic Solaris mountain bike build

A Shimano Deore LX Rapidrise derailleur for my utility bike. £15 including postage on eBay.

I would like the XTR one, but £30 plus postage seems a lot for a 20 year old rd. I've made a cheeky bid.

If I get it then my three derailleur bikes will all be back-to-front.

My Banana Industries bundle arrived today and must say I'm impressed with everything in it. The socks look great quality, as do their sunglasses. The cheap bike locks look great for cafe stops and can't wait to use my Bamboo toothbrush on the 1st overnight trip of 2025 ^_^

Not so much bought as warranty claim. The Edge power mount stopped working. Of the five pins one remained recessed. Contacted Garmin on Chat. Uploaded a picture of problem as instructed. They created an order against my account with credit equal to price of new power mount. I then completed details for delivery etc. No need to return the no longer working power mount. All nice and smooth and good to see warranty process work so well.

I was delivering beer to Forest Cycle Centre in the Forest of Dean today and had a quick look around the bike shop there. Lo and behold, they sell a mudguard mount rear lights, which is a surprisingly hard to find object. So I bought one, along with a folding Allen key set. Also, on this morning's commute I realised that my twenty-year-old Ronhill Tracksters are no good for cycling in, so I've just bought some new leggings for the winter.

Some second-hand bits as part of project changes / upgrades:

- A pair of Shimano 600 brake levers for the Raleigh SP so it'll have aero ones instead of the current drillium pair.
- A vintage Shimano Altus rear derailleur to use on the Carlton Franco Italia to see what the shifting cause is (£3 delivered!)
- A 3T quill stem for the Principia 700
- A Mavic CXP wheelset with CODA hubs for the Principia 700
- A Pirelli Cinturato Velo 28mm for the next build I'm to do
- And a SwissSide wheel inflator for track use.
