I actually have a pair of them that came with one of my bikes, but one of the spokes pulled it's retaining nut/insert (whatever you want to call it) so I have a very loose spoke. Finding spares for it isn't so straightforward.

They are incredibly light though.

It's called a spoke nipple. Might help you to search for spares if you know what it is called .

I know that!

The spoke nipple on the rim end is present, but these are strange, straight pull spokes with the most minute gromit type things on the hub end. I can only find the full spoke for sale, which at £10 when I only need that tiny component seems extreme.

I am by no means an experienced wheel builder, but being north of 100kg, I have replaced a lot of spokes!

Sorry, I didn't realise they existed like that, I though it was the nipple end you were talking about.

Nothing @DCLane ?🤣🤣🤣

OK ... a helmet. This was £20 on Monday, so I picked one up for son no. 2. It fitted me as well, and was still £20 yesterday so I bought one. Now gone up to £42 so not worth going in the 'Bargain' thread. It'll do as a spare to stay in the car just in case I forget a helmet when racing. Not that I've ever done that

And I'm picking up the bike I won on an auction last Friday. Hopefully it's genuine, although I know the components aren't original. But ... it's got drillium

I've just collected 100€ to spend on tools...

This will be fun

3 sets of spanners, three work lights and one pack of Wera Hex Plus Allen keys...

... which were almost as expensive as the rest put together but which are invaluable for dealing with old and dodgy bolts. Annoyingly there was another set of these, which I really need to get, but I didn't have enough cash on me. I'll have to go back.

They aren't cheap, so it's probably best I'm not getting three sets at once, but they are very good. My set has lasted a year in the workshop and the plastic sleeves have a few dings but the heads look new.

Yeah, there's few things worse than allen keys made of cheese. Good quality tools are an investment. And you don't get a burning desire to wang them out of the window like you do with the cheap tat.

Having bought this Ridley Fenix 2019 frameset last week the seller kindly brought it to the racing in Hull this evening rather than us collecting or paying postage. It'll become son no. 2's new winter bike, with his 2009 Boardman AirPro either kept as a spare frameset or more likely sold.

Happy with the price and, apart from one part needing a bit of paint, in very good condition. We'll need a bottom bracket (ordered) and the parts needed to convert it back to cable-operated rather than Di2 (also ordered).

The Boardman has had two issues; firstly, as an aero frame fitting mudguards was extremely fiddly and always a bodge and secondly, it's been re-sprayed matt black and as a parent I'd prefer something more visible. Oh, and after four winters' use plus lots of time on the turbo trainer it's seen much better days.
