A couple more bits over the weekend:
  • Having bought a RH Ultegra 8000 shifter a RH 6800 one popped up. I'm now after LH 8000 and 9000 ones to make matching pairs instead.
  • An Ultegra 6800 RH name plate as the one I bought would benefit from a replacement.
Also, for son no. 2:
  • A Ridley Noah derailleur hanger as a spare
  • A LH square taper crank, which we'll spray orange, and a pair of bar grips. He's brought his Carlton Corsa back from university and it's a bit battered after a year's use in all weathers.
  • A set of Halt Gooey orange brake pads for the Carlton Corsa and new wheel nuts.
  • A 3wrencho tyre tool as a birthday present.
Still need to source a 25mm 700c orange tyre.

My brooks ti swift decided to snap off a lug on the tension bracket. Off route Into Killarney as it had 3 bike shops, managed to buy a brooks B17 only had brown . Beggars can't be choosers.

More 105 bits

105 sc 1056 2x8 speed shifters, front and rear mechs.

Kind of digging myself a hole here with 3 or 4 projects about to commence but I can't be putting Claris shifters on a Roberts frame. Figured it's worth doing properly.

I'm looking for left-hand Shimano Ultegra 8000 and Dura-Ace 9000 shifters to complement ones I've got. But ... when a pair of Ultegra 8000 shifters pops up quite cheaply for current prices I couldn't resist. Bought. They'll go onto son no. 2's winter bike re-build. Or I might pinch them and put them on the Viner Mitus that I recently put together and he can have 6800's instead.

Either way a pair of Shimano 5800's can be sold on which is likely to cover most of the purchase cost.

PX Purchases with PAYDAY20 code. Two bottle cages for MrsF and daughter's bikes, both have snapped (one being a Spesh cage).

A PODSAC bar bag (PX) - for an upcoming Pennine Bridleway two day ride. I doubt I'll be using it much after, but 20% off and it will hold my 'civvy' clothing for the evenings (trainers, shorts/t-shirts).

A couple of tyres; a Pirelli Cinturato Velo to match the rear I have for the Viner Mitus (on offer for 24mm - although I'd have preferred 26mm that was £20 more) and an orange one for son no. 2's Carlton Corsa (23mm as it was £15 delivered rather than a 25mm for £30 delivered).

Brown leather lasts longer, because the dyes aren’t as aggressive as black.

Are you sure you aren't actually a bike shop owner.
