Dr No. still as great as the first time we saw it in ‘63.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I'm not sure it is nit picking, that and Chani leaving Paul will make the story in the third movie deviate significantly from the cannon.

At least they didnt have sound activated guns ;)

How was it? I've read the book and watched the original Swedish movie. Have they fully sanitised it? I don't understand why they had to change the name of the main character, what's wrong with Ove?

I haven’t read the book or seen the original.
The Hanks movie was a sweet feel good film, I knew what would happen at the end as soon as the film began.
The suicide scenes were fairly well sanitised.

Hitman 47

A man who works for an organisation that takes young children and trains them as assassins is chased across Europe by a British detective whilst his own organisation have now also decided to kill him.

It's pretty much John Wick without the over corergraphed fights.

5/10.

much better than the david lynch effort as i found chamalet a more believable character , spreading over 2 films certainly gave it chance to work more of the story in although you can expect some changes like the fact that paul`s sister is still unborn at the end and paul kills the baron himself .Nit picking for sure ;)
The recent 1 & 2 are both excellent films, watched them several times.

But I did also enjoy the previous efforts, not only the David Lynch one but also the Si-Fi Channel attempts. All have their limoitations but all good efforts to tell a complex story. Latest 2 part most successful so far.

never read the books so it was good to discover that stupid idea was a Lynch insert... my name is a weapon ...feck off!

The new Dune is just so much better than the 80s version, but the SciFy version is still my favourite.

Having read the books up to chapter house dune , the last I think that he wrote multiple times i am a dyed in the wool fan , yes the tv series was pretty good .

Which got me thinking....😁
Do any films work better than the book ?
Not many for me,rarely does a film do a book I've read justice.
Of the top of my head The Shining...loved the book and the film but that's a rare one for me.King and Kubrick being masters of their art.

The Princess Bride is possibly the best book I've read... but if the film was like the book, it simply would not work.
