What film did you watch last night?

Not a film but The Expanse is very true to the books.

True to an extent. I watched the first couple of episodes and got irritated by the shuffling of the timelines and gave up on it. I know, I'm a stickler for detail.

It’s Tom Hanks…..more grumbly than sweary, but it was good…..& I had read the book prior to the film….

Do any films work better than the book ?
Not many for me,rarely does a film do a book I've read justice.

Definitely worth its own thread. Mainly so that I don't have to read all the whining critiques of adaptations.
You all need to meet in a pub and read out the books to each-other. Maybe film it on your iPhones?

Not last night but I saw Joy as a Sky freebie last Tuesday at the cinema. If you like gentle British true stories, it's a good watch (although I'm not that keen on Bill Nighy as an actor). On Netflix from 22 Nov too
