Missing in Action III, something I never knew existed until last night, I'd always thought there was just two films.

Ten years after the Vietnam war Chuck Norris finds out that he's got a son he never knew about, and obviously he has to go back and save him, despite the CIA's best attempts to stop him.

Lots of action as Chuck takes on an entire garrison of Vietnamese troops led by a comedy character of an officer.

Chuck and the officer, who's now in a helicopter gunship, come together for a final showdown but I'll not spoil it by telling you who wins. 😂

Nowt to do with the seaside village (which I had never heard of before), but a modern take on classism, desire, jealousy and betrayal. It's beautiful and well acted but could have been so much more unhinged and debauched: it felt like it had been reined in which is a shame. It never quite got to the levels of creepy menace it could have, but that wasn't helped by it being pretty obvious what was going to happen.

Also father and butler characters were seriously underused, and the dippy matriarch wasn't nearly spaced out enough. There was another character, Farley, who I just didn't see the point of.

Still, it was a freebie (courtesy of See Film First) and a decent enough effort, but I think I'd be a bit miffed if I'd paid to see it.

Ok, action movie actress trivia quiz...
Y'all will remember this character from Terminator 2. But what other much-loved supporting role did she play?

Vasquez in Aliens. She was also in star trek series and Titanic I think

"Hey Vasquez have you ever been mistaken for a man?"
"No, have you?!"

Titanic she was the Irish mother who told a fairy story to her children as the ship was sinking, she's done loads of stuff with James Cameron.

managed to completely miss that . I've got the book Scarred for Life (vol one). Was it part of the screenings that included The Wicker Man?
It was a Q and A/live show.Enjoyed it was a good laugh ! Obviously the Wicker Man is the holy grail of folk horror so plenty of that...personally I'm more of a Witchfinder General sort 😍
One thing that stuck out for me is how as a kid all those public information trailers adverts and kids TV was genuinely scary ! No wonder I'm still scared of mantraps and deep water !

Saltburn.
Went to the Cinema with my daughter last night. Her choice, something to do with one of the lead actors called Jacob Alordi...Yea I've never heard of him either !
Anyway I love Barry Keoghan and Carey Mulligan so why not.As for the film I was expecting a run of the mill sort of posh mystery drama.I was wrong....loved it in a twisted way. Some great acting performances and certainly not what I was expecting.Im guessing by the reactions from quite a few in the Cinema it wasn't for everyone but a solid 8/10 for me.

At a guess she's heard of Elordi because of The Kissing Booth, a dreadful trilogy of teenage romantic comedy films. What's totally baffling about them is that there's 3 of the things!

Or possibly 2 Hearts.

See my post further up the thread!

We saw Wish yesterday - 7/10 if you've got a 7 year old in tow who's just getting into Disney properly, 5/10 if you've seen them do it before and better.

That said, there are a couple of cracking tunes, and the mix of CGI and traditional animation was skilfully done. And I know it's meant to be a "Disney is 100 YAY!" celebration, but that just left me a bit cold as it's essentially an extended advert for Magic Kingdom.

Still, at least it wasn't another "live action" rehash (although a couple of those I have enjoyed). Oh and the trailer for the Wonka origins story looks good too, I think Gene Wilder would approve.
