well, not last night but a couple of days ago, and I really enjoyed both on the same day:
Game Night -was really surprized at how good (and funny) this was. I really enjoyed the next door neighbour, particularly when he invited them into the house (must be my sense of humour) when they needed his help. Rachael McAdams really made this film as well.
The Florida Project -first Willem Dafoe is excellent in this. Secondly, certainly not a comedy and the subject matter is definitely depressing. But it really is beautifully shot, and while on the face of it doesn't seem to have much of a story, I found myself being drawn eerily into it. Given it takes place within a stone's throw of Disney, the juxtaposition of Disney and the inhabitants of the motel and their situations makes it thought provoking. You had sympathy, disgust, respect and disappointment for so many of the characters, all mixed in.....
