LA Confidential. Seen it before but I certainly didn't mind watching it again. Cracking tale (originally an James Ellroy story) of corruption in the LA police dept with Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe and some bloke I didn't recognise called Guy Pearce, and Danny DeVito brilliant (as ever) as a muckraking journo, slipping twenties to bent cops for great photo opportunities.

Was Kevin Spacey still in it?

Blow Up (1966) ...It's one of those cult films i've been meaning to watch for a few years now. After half an hour I realised that it's one of those arty movies in which bugger all happens, and after forty minutes, i turned it off and watched Snatch instead. It's an old favourite from a time when Guy Richie was capable of making a film that wasn't utter pants, and probably the last time Jason Statham was in a film that wasn't utter pants either... but i mostly watched it for Alan Ford who recently graced my screen in an episode of The Chinese Detective. "Do you know what nemesis means?".

Killing Gunther (2017)......Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tarmac Killiam, assassins team up to kill the worlds best assassin, meant to be a comedy but there aren't many laughs, there is a few but even then they are not very funny, Arnold Schwarzenegger is fairly good with some humour but the Arnie reference jokes are now old, dated and no longer funny. 3/10

Lol at calling your kid Tarmac ffs

Er, The Transporter?
A film i was most disappointed with. The first fifteen minutes were good, but it nose dived after that.

Littlest daughter picked a film on Sunday - Mum's List. It was about a mother who died of cancer leaving behind her husband and two children. It was just really sad. I don't know why somebody would make a film like that. I'm not letting her pick again. She left before the end as well.

That's terribly sad. She presumably chose it because it had 'Mum' in the tile, then it turned out to be exactly the opposite of what she imagined.

Rogue - 8/10

Very entertaining Aussie creature feature, loosely based on the story of Sweetheart - a big crocodile that liked to attack boats in the outback. Same director as Wolf Creek so it's tense, the gore is excellent for a low budget effort and the crocodile doesn't look ridiculous when fully revealed.

Doesn't bring anything new to the genre, but what it does it does a lot better than most.

'Weepies' seemed to be a big thing a few decades ago. My mother was often being recommended films by an aunt, with puke inducing titles along the lines of Petals on the Wind, Something Fragile Falls, Snowdrops in the Spring, The Wilting Rose and An Early Autumn. They all had the same ending; death, loss, tears, sadness, slow piano music, soft focus and Mum going through half a packet of tissues and thoroughly enjoying every tear. I thought they were sh!t.
