Philomena.

Wonderful portrayal by Judi and for once Coogan was good (he's so rubbish with his "funny" stuff).
Have to say I'm with you on this one. I was interested to note that Coogan was co-writer as well as co star.

Well done Mark Rylance for his Oscar in Bridge of Spies.

But, Sam Smith's Oscar for the Bond song - really?

The story of Cannon films, whose logo you'll almost certainly recognise if you were a member of your local video club, back when that was a thing. Hugely entertaining.

Room. Not my first choice but I went to be sociable. The story of a woman and her son who escape captivity and return to her parents after seven years' imprisonment. (The son is five.) From the trailer I was expecting it to be a schmalzy American tearjerker but it was far from it. Excellent acting, especially by Jacob Timberlay playing the son. Sometimes it pays to be sociable. 8/10.

Hope & Glory - rather lovely, and very well done. Also The Warriors - apparently some kind of cult movie, and gets a good score on IMdB, but I'm afraid I found it risible. One of those movies that really hasn't aged well...and you suspect it was crap when it was made.
