As long as I breathe, I attack.
Fiddler on the roof (1971)... a cracking film....
.
Avengers age of ultron......I like these type of films, so I enjoyed it 7/10 but for the life of me I kept seeing Jack Palance as Ultron, why? who knows...

Watched the new Star Wars movie.
Lots of reminiscing and not a bad continuation.
I was 9 when the first one hit the screens so a little of the awe and magic is gone. Liked it anyway.

Revenge for Jolly.

What a strange film !!
A black comedy...not overtly funny but an undercurrent of ridiculous, almost comedic situations and conversations while a grief stricken dropout enlists the help of his cousin to find his beloved dogs killer. Killing almost anyone in a detached almost relaxed manner, the two make their way through the film to its climax....and a terrible ending which will leave you nowhere. I literally uttered outloud...'What the heck was that ???' as the credits rolled.
Enjoyed it, almost loved it, terrible ending.

Lucy....Scarlett Johansson...I thought it was a good film/story but also thought it could have done without the car chase, shooting etc ....
i thought it could have done without the silly ending. I love a bit of Luc Besson but with Lucy... i don't know what he was thinking. Maybe it's an homage to classic sci-fi such as The Incredible Shrinking Man or The Man With The X Ray Eyes... in fact with those in mind, i might have to re-evaluate Lucy.

If you haven't seen it, I can highly recommend The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc Sec...

it's a big statement, but i think it's possibly better than Leon (IMHO).

"The Sapphires". 9/10. True(ish) story of an Australian aboriginal girl soul group who went to entertain the US troops in Vietnam. Watch out for a really good performance by (the usually comic) Chris O'Dowd as the girls' manager. A tale of achievement overcoming discrimination. Some war action, some romance. Lots of good soul music. A rare gem. look out for it.

Cube (1997)

Sci-Fi psychological or philosophical drama.

Small group of people awake to find they are in a cube shaped room with doors on all six sides. These lead to identical cubes except the colour changes and some are safe and some are not.

Great film, one of my favourites.

For you trivia fans, each of the characters is named after an actual prison.

Spotlight - the telling of the Boston Globe's investigation into systematic child abuse by the city's catholic priests.. and how that led to countless similar investigations around the world.

Fascinating and shocking, and superbly portrayed by a strong cast.

8/10

Totally agree. And hardly any artistic licence used in the film's portrayal of events apparently. The real Spotlight team worked with the production team for authenticity.
Every Day Except Christmas - a documentary by Lindsay Anderson and Karel Reisz about the almost nocturnal workers of Covent Garden market in the late fifties. Astonishing, and sponsored by Ford trucks!
I need to try and track that down. My grandfather worked there as a fruit wholesaler from the '30s to early '70s.
