Infamous

Fantastic dramatisation of the writing of "In Cold Blood", with superb performances from Toby Jones (who overshadows pretty much everyone else) and the rest of a very starry cast.

Got an opinion on Capote vs Infamous?

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Wild with reece witherspoon. Oscar nominated film. Started off quite slow and I thought meh not too good, but it got better and better. Worth watching.

Took the kids to the cinema to watch Hotel Transylvania 2.
If you liked the first one, you'll like it - it's pretty funny in places, and a decent voice cast. Probably Adam Sandler's best film. 6½/10

Then in the evening Mrs benb and I watched Mr Holmes, about the ageing titular detective, trying to remember the details from his last case.
Great performance (as usual) from Ian McKellen, and if you're a Holmes fan you'll like it. 7/10

Spectre - 7/10

It's not really a film in its own right, more a tribute to every other Bond film.

That's said, it's very entertaining and has all the things you'd expect from Bond: a plot that makes little sense, a lunatic villain, implausibly good looking women, cool cars and gadgets.

And as I thought it would, Sam Smith's theme makes total sense when you watch it with the title sequence. Probably the cleverest thing about the latest Bond efforts is the way they've used music to enhance the visuals.

Cash

Enjoyable French heist caper, although a bit too twisty turny for it's own good (the crosses and double crosses come so thick and fast that it's really difficult to invest too much on what's shown on screen, at times).

Or, as I put it in #4697:

Just watched one of those complicated scammer-scammed con job movies, called Cash. As usual, I didn't have clue what was going on, from start to finish.
