Nothing watched last night as we went to see Mark Watson at the Cambridge Cornex,did get 5 blu-rays for a £10 using an Hmv voucher and a 5 for £30 deal;

North by Northwest,Inside Llewyn Davis,Dom Hemingway,The Grand Budapest Hotel and Dallas Buyers Club.

Gawd knows when we'll get to watch them,got about 8 other blu-rays/dvd's to watch and we are only half way through the first Sopranos series and we have the next 5 to go still.

The Babadook - Excellent original Australian suspense horror film that did not rely on sudden shock sound effects like most US films do. Very good 8/10

Nightcrawler - US Film about a parasite-like crime scene vdieo journalist. Very good film, highly recommended 8/10

North by Northwest is an absolute classic of pure entertainment. I hugely enjoyed Budapest Hotel too albeit might not appeal to everyone.

Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? IMO, it's by far the greatest offering from the Coen brothers... i don't think there's anything i don't like about this film. :thumbsup:
I think that's the only Coen Brothers' film I haven't seen.
Surely it can't be as good as The Big Lebowski?

Can anything?
O Brother Where Art Thou is good (and has a terrific soundtrack) but isn't up there with their best, imo.
I put Oh Brother head and shoulders above Big Lebowski.

50 Dead Men Walking

A film based on a true story about an informant in Northern Ireland starring Ben Kingsley and Jim Sturgess (both very good).

The Director manages to steer a neutral course and the film is well worth looking out for.

I've never understood why Taken is rated so highly. It's a mediocre action flick with a cool speech in it. Basically it's 24 in film form, with a weird nod to the threat of what happens in Hostel.

Neeson could be after anything in it.

Agreed on the sequels though. If you start off aiming a film at an adult audience then drop to a 12A rating, it's pretty clear your only objective is making a few bucks.
