Erased - OK, typical run of the mill stuff on double dealing and assassinations murder etc. 6/10

The next 3 days - actually I rather enjoyed this one, something slightly different to the usual. Innocent wife sent to prison for life for murder she didn't do. When she finally tries to take her own life not being able to cope with it any more he decides to get her out no matter what... 7.5/10 not quite worth of 8/10 but not really a 7/10
he succeeds in breaking her out of prison and escaping with their son to Venezuela BTW

It is a brilliant film , just because of the way its filmed. Possibly the best SciFi film in a long time .
Agreed. Amazing, hypnotic score too.

I watched "The Professionals" - a western with the now expected dodgy racial and gender politics of its time, but also Lee Marvin, who is aces.

Oh. and Claudia Cardinale.

Blimey.

Went to see Ex Machina last night , it just leads you to the conclusion that humans are just another step in evolution ,the next being AI.
Amazing score , incredible performances and a gripping ,twisting plot.

Not seen this, but I liked the French original (Pour Elle / Anything for Her) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1217637/

I watched American Sniper and thought it was a good film. It gave a very real account of the man himself, I thought. The opening scene is particularly moving. One cannot even begin to imagine what that must have been like.

Also watched, "The Theory of Everything". Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant film.

War of the Arrows - slowish start, but deserving of a 7/10
IMDb description "A skilled archer is betrayed by his king and is labeled a traitor. As his home is invaded, he has his children flee to the home of his best friend, Kim Min-soon (Lee Kyeong-Yeong). Before they can escape, his children witness their father's death. Thirteen years later, the archer's children have both inherited their father's archery skills. Nam-Yi (Park Hae-il) spends most of his days brooding, keeping to himself, and drinking his life away. Ja-in (Moon Chae-won) has bigger things in mind and is prepared to marry the son of Kim Min-soon Seo-goon (Kim Mu-Yeol) even if it's without her older brother's blessing. On their wedding day, Manchurian soldiers attack their village, kidnap Ja-in, and enslave everyone that isn't killed in the initial attack. Nam-Yi will stop at nothing to gain revenge and rescue his sister with his trusted bow even if it means going up against the Qing army and its remorseless commander Jyuu Shin-Ta (Ryu Seung-Ryong)."

Trading Places. I've seen it over a dozen times at a guess. I never tire of it.

Egg nog?
I love the bit in there when Eddy Murphy 'breaks the fourth wall' (an expression taught to me recently by my youngest) when they're explaining pork bellies to him.
