Lazenby was terrible. The only reason OHMSS is any good is because Peter Hunt was a genius.

Hardly matters, it's certainly one of the better films, and Lazenby is adequate. It ain't Lear after all

The Imitation Game. Great performance by Benedict Cumberbatch. Could've done without Keira Knightly pronouncing it "methmetics" but, you know... As for the story, the history lesson is obligatory I suppose (spoiler alert: the allies win the war) but how the intrigue and Turing's downfall are portrayed make it very watchable. There is quite a bit of fictionalisation and dramatic licence taken. This here website gives some good info regarding fact vs fiction http://www.historyvshollywood.com/reelfaces/imitation-game/ (**actual spoilers**)

(..and seeing as many of you have seen American Sniper there's a page on the above site for that one too).

Birdman. Overacted, ambiguous load of old twaddle, with some unpleasant characters, I expect it'll win a load of oscars.

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.

But I only saw less than half before turning it off. Wanted to watch the rest as it might not have been a bad movie, but I prefer to spend less time watching stuff like this.

I hated that last time I saw it. I do have a rewatch scheduled, to see if my first impression sticks, but not yet...

GMO OMG

2/10

A stereotypical Angelino wonders why pesticides are put on food and reaches no conclusions about anything, beyond that he considers GMO to be a very bad thing. Possibly the least informative documentary I've ever seen. Avoid.

Eternal Sunshine is a wonderful film, it's a re-affirmation of love and the shattering heartbreak of loss.

On the plane to Harare it was:
- The Equaliser, with Denziel Washington - 5/10 - passed the time
- One Chance - the Paul Potts story with James Corden 8/10 - Full Montyesque
- A Good Lie - Sudan refugees in the US - 9/10. Excellent (much better than it sounds).

Zaytoun (2012) - Beirut, 1982: a young Palestinian refugee helps an Israeli fighter pilot escape from PLO captivity because he wants to visit his ancestral family home. En route through war-torn Lebanon their relationship develops into a close bond.
In a strange way I actually enjoyed this film... 7/10

Katyn - guessing it doesn't need a description... Again I enjoyed it in a strange way. Poignant because I am pretty certain we cycled passed the memorial whilst cycling through Poland.. 7/10.

Recorded a movie called The Selfish Giant before Christmas, but hadn't got round to watching it, though my youngest did. She looked a bit shaken afterwards. Now I know why. Brilliant, but boy is it bleak. Stunning performances from the two teenage leads.

Looper - a brain teasing sci-fi time travel picture. Makes you think, but don't think two much else it'll fall apart. Good though - maybe 7/10. Primer, on similar themes was rather better.

An absolute gem of a film. Unfortunately some dust got in my eyes towards the end.
