I wish Brosnan had done one more, if only to make up for DAD, but he wanted too much money.

Another example, Halle Berry jumping backwards off the cliff into the sea. Close up of her face, she winks, then a completely rubbish cardboard cut out of Berry falls backwards. Naff. Those special effects weren't very special. And the Beach Boys windsurfing bit, cringe cringe cringe.

Brosnan was a shite Bond.

I think he was perfectly OK. That said, I agree that die another day was utter shyte, and by some way the worst of the series - which is saying something. Nothing wrong with the cast, and Halle Berry & Brosnan, and indeed the various villians pretty good with the dire material they had to work with. The car chase and the stupid rocket sledge chase - oh dear oh dear, and the ice palace for that matter. All perfectly OK formulaic ideas, desperately badly done.

If I watch a bond film, I'm expecting escapist stupid fun, rather than Seven Samurai, but this was just rubbish

Dalton, to my mind, was too good an actor for Bond. He was RSC I think. So, to follow Dalton with Brosnan kind of makes sense cos Brosnan's acting repertoire consists of TWO expressions:

"Where are my car keys?"

And

"oh! There are my car keys!"

Perfectly OK?! I'm not having that.

Had about as much charisma and presence as a damp sock. Made Lazenby's effort look like an award winner.

Bit violent. But then, in context, Dalton had to takeover from Moore's Safari suits.

At least with Moore ii was done tongue in cheek.

Whereas with Brosnan you were supposed to believe he could actually take on three big blokes and knock them all out.

Know who was tipped? Ollie Reed. Shut up laughing and think about it, good actor, physical presence, brooding air of menace (he was a fantastic Bill Sykes) and looked like he could beat up three henchmen without spilling his pint. The Broccollis were put off by his tabloid antics. Of course Fleming thought Bond looked like:
