I watched an old British pathe film starring sir john mills called town on trial. About a a series of murders carried out by a sexual predator. Very risque for1956. And yes it was in black and white, and some of the acting was very over the top, but still watchable.

Cracking film. McGowen and Mills' performances really help lift it from a standard thriller into something much better.

Crank:High Voltage.

Routine storyline - gangsters nick Jason's heart to transplant into a 100 year old dude and kindly give Mr S a battery operated heart that needs continually needs re-charging by a variety of means (including, of course, sex on a race track in the middle of a horse race).

Lot's of bloodshed and laughs along the way as Statham seeks both revenge and his heart.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
They are having some decent old films on more4 at the moment. Today it was againat the wind 1947 with james Robertson justice. A war film about saboteurs during the second world war.some might want to record one or two. 10am each week day. Don't know how long they have been showing them or how much longer they will be on.

I watched that a bit ago - absolutely bonkers.

I think the first Crank is better, but this had a sort of deranged enthusiasm that's hard to dislike.

Killer Tongue. 6/10

Features a 10 foot tongue, nuns, meteorites and stupidity. One of John Rhys-Meyers' earliest roles as a drag queen, who has been transformed from a dyed poodle by the meteorite.

Watch it with friends and beer.

I watched Mad Max and Mad Max 2 recently... still good enough after all these years, and it was a nice surprise to see Sheila Florence in Mad Max 1, best known as Lizzie from Prisoner: Cell Block H...

Mad Max 2 had some great stunts and some seriously silly villians... lots of fun and took me right back to my youth... MM2 was the first pirate video i ever watched, the picture was terrible but the experience was great... I genuinely expected we'd be raided by the fuzz before the film ended

The Karate Kid. People had been telling me it was better than you might expect for years, so I thought I'd give it a go. I didn't know there was more than one. The one I saw, it turns out, was the remake, with Will Smith's son showing those mean chinkies how it's done after a few weeks of prancing around and lame-brained cod philosophy. What a pile of Krap.
