The Andromeda Strain, based on an IMDB rating of 7.2. Definitely the most boring film I've seen this year, and quite possibly in my entire life.

Glad I'm not the only one - my mum bought me the silmarillion when I was a kid after reading all the others in a couple of weeks, think I made it to about page 20 before I thought "what....?" I've not picked it up since.

Part of the problem with Silmarillion is that his son made large parts of it up. To say he didn't succeed would be an understatement.

Tonight's viewing was A Good Day to Die Hard. A generous 2/10.

The initial Die Hard trilogy is a near flawless collection of action movies. I even enjoyed 4.0 as it attempted, with some success, to bring the franchise into a more modern setting. This latest outing is an abject disaster, an embarrassing addition.

I watched it so you don't have to.

I disagree,i love this film.yes it is slow but that is the whole point. The build up to finding what this disease is and how it mutates is captivating. From michael crichton i believe.Of course,i you are of a younger age you may not appreciate the story as an elder but i have seen this movie quite a few times over the years and it gets better with each viewing. Not every film has to be high explosive and action packed,a thoughtful story is far better than cgi will ever be.

I agree with you completely. How could they make a car chase through Moscow with an armoured personnel carrier so boring? The film is so bad it's almost an achievement.

The Three Musketeers was on the TV, the 2011 version.

It was quite hammy, with plot holes you could drive a bus through, but enjoyable nonetheless. I would have felt a bit ripped off if I'd seen it at the cinema.

Milla Jovovich was good, as was Christoph Waltz and Mads Mikkelsen as, respectively, Milady, Cardinal Richelieu and Captain Rochefort.
Orlando Bloom was awful though as Buckingham. The film definitely suffered from an excess of antagonists.

The sword fights were good, and it did have a certain amount of swash to its buckle.
6.5/10

Watched the first half of Captain Merka, The Winter Soldier. Seems good so far, but as per usual, had to give up halfway through due to the waking of a 1 year old. Hopefully watch the rest later.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I watched an old British pathe film starring sir john mills called town on trial. About a a series of murders carried out by a sexual predator. Very risque for1956. And yes it was in black and white, and some of the acting was very over the top, but still watchable.
