Just watched The Big Country, with Gregory Peck, Jean Simmons, Charlton Heston, an epic story and a landscape to match. Of its genre, flawless. Of any, a majestic piece of work. Wonderful.

Just watched "In order of disappearance" - Stellen Skarsgard superb as always, in this slow burn superior revenge movie. Very violent and dark, but quite a few rather unsettling laughs along the way. Skarsgard says little.and is yet compelling. The brilliantly written dialogue is everyday trivia rather than Goodfellas wise-craking.

It's very much a slow Scandinavian movie - so whilst there's action in it, it's.not action movie.

A very superior.film. Best film I've seen in a year or two

The International.

Euro type film with Clive Owen battling evil Bankers. Nice gun fight two thirds of the way through but either side you have an unbelievable plot alongside actors just turning up to pay the rent.

The Fifth Element. I'm still none the wiser.
I can never see that expression without being reminded of the exchange between a judge and FE Smith - Tory toff & great chum of Churchill:

Judge: I've listened to you for an hour and I'm none the wiser.
Smith: None the wiser perhaps, my lord, but certainly better informed.
