I smashed my pelvis a couple of year ago in a pothole/commuting accident which has curtailed the cycling commute which I use to manage my weight, that plus WFH means my weight has ballooned. I have requested an appointment to see the NHS dietician, who I have yet to see, but in their reply they said weight loss injections were unlikely. Are they worth the expense to pay for them without the support you'd get through the NHS? BTW we eat healthily, all home prepared etc it's just I have a raging appetite which I find hard to control.

Due to being away on holiday and away from the scales I weighed myself on Friday it’s usually a Monday event.

Down to 96.8 kgs, another 0.7 kgs lost.

Portion size definitely reduced, very little alcohol consumed, lots of water instead.

147 lbs on friday which is my target summer weight so as i havent been riding much , working a lot and had a cold for nearly a month has raised alarm bells that i need to change some things .

My wife’s hairdresser is paying for it, but under the care of her GPs surgery. I don’t know which brand, but it’s not Mounjaro which I’m on. I lost a lot of weight through diet and exercise but plateaued and couldn’t get less than 103 kgs, after 6 weeks I’ve lost 7 kgs with no side effects. Trying to be relatively discreet I’m spending lest time and being less productive in the bathroom.

I would urge you to discuss it with your doctor, mine persuaded me to try it as the benefits are enormous.

i have the appointment tomorrow with the dietician, so will see what they say - if they are unwilling to prescribe then I will go down the route of paying for it.

The diet starts tomorrow.
2025 is the year i am going to drop 15kg!
No silly diets, just pre planning, more fresh veg and restrict sweet and fatty foods.
Sensible portion control has never been easy for me, so Im going to have to up my will power.

I broke under 105kg today. I’ve lost over 6kg in 2.5 months. It’s a nice and steady half kg per week.
9kg to go by December.
And traditionally I find it easier to manage my diet and exercise in Spring/ Summer.

New weight is 96. 3 kgs, so 0.5 kg lost, which considering we have been away on holiday is very pleasing.

I have my monthly appointment with the diabetic nurse tomorrow, I expect to give blood for an HbA1c check, must remember to drink lots of water before I go.

Saw the nurse today, who is pleased with my progress, her interest is in me reducing my fat gut/stomach more than weight loss as I’m not massively overweight. I gave bloods for a whole raft of things including liver function, Cholesterol, PSA and HbA1c. My Mounjaro is stepping up to 7.5 mg (I think) we will be half way to the maximum dose from Monday.

Exercise this week
Monday cycle to and from work 7 miles
Today One hour HIIT with a PT at the gym
Tomorrow will be commuting, maybe a longer ride home
Thursday, will be One hour HIIT with a PT at the gym plus a 1 hour Yoga
Friday hopefully a 1 hour lane swimming or possibly cycling

Then I hit another gap until possibly next Tuesday when I’m back at the gym, maybe I can fit in a longer ride as well.

104.4kg today.
I have now launched “Project 99”
This is my personal goal to break 100kg with a big push in April and May.
It should be possible with a few tweaks to my current regime.

I've watched my weight steadily increase from 80Kg in late September '22 to as high as 98Kg in late February '25, which I'm going to mainly blame on being on Sertraline during a lot of that period until recently (as well as long covid; SAD; eating a lot; not being able to burn it off on the bike like I used to).

Currently 96.7Kg and barely fitting into my most generous cycling jerseys, no idea how my Castelli L/XL bibs are stretching to accomodate my waist without ripping!
