Dropped another 1lb this week, not my usual 2lb but at least it's something. I have had a couple of indulgent meals that probably pushed me over the 800kcal limit. One was a Tikka masala (cream) and the other a Valentine's day beef stroganoff (more cream). Hopefully I'm back on track for next week

I poop a lb. I’d fall over on 800 k a day so well done! My training ride today was about 800k.

since being diagnosed type 2 a few years ago I’ve exercised myself down over 20 kgs to around 104. My HbA1c is in the low 50s, cholesterol hugely improved, bp good. My gp has persuaded me to start Mounjaro, which I have done and so far had two jabs, when I get up I will weigh myself and take my third jab.

i have been eating less, but sadly due to a muscle strain in my leg hardly cycled or been to the gym. I’m feeling very frustrated by this. I’ve had a sports massage and that has helpEd, but resting is not easy. I cycled over 6,000 kms last year.

After week1 I lost 1.9 kgs

I've been losing roughly double that without injections.

Did your GP give any reason for suggesting injections when you have done so well with your own efforts?

My own efforts had plateaued and the GP wanted me to reduce my drugs. I’ve gone down to 1 Gliclazide from 4, I’m fairly sure my insulin will be coming down soon as my morning BG is around 6, sometimes less.

Im expecting to see someone from the area Diabetic team in March who first mooted the idea of Mounjaro.

As soon as I’m exercising again there will be larger reductions, but 2kgs a week is fast enough in my opinion.

It'll be because of the Type 2. GPs have been told to offer Mounjaro to anyone who falls into the Obese category and who has a co-morbidity (terrible word IMHO for something that just means you have more than one linked medical problem).

He's already answered the question himself, but thanks.

For now I am keeping my weight comfortably below 80 kg. When spring arrives I will start to do more/longer rides and should see more weight loss then without really trying.

From a fat point of view I would like to get down to about 70 kg but I know that I am too scrawny at that weight, so maybe a more muscular 73 kg will be my target.

My legs get enough exercise from cycling and walking. How difficult would it be to gain 3 kg of upper body muscle , given that I don't have much at the moment?
