With luck I am picking up a cx project with the long term aim of making a winter commuter , its is a "weigh" branded bike which i have never heard of so if anyone has any information about the brand i would be grateful . This frame is free and the person giving it me is giving a set of old mavic askium wheels .
I am half thinking of using spray.bike stuff to spray it a uniform colour and to tidy up the cable rub of the front fork
It has cantilever brakes which i may change to mini Vs as i have heard they have better stopping power
Groupset wise i am not sure , i think all i need is a right hand 10 speed apex shifter and a front derailleur to make a full groupset or a pair of tiagra shifters to go the other way .I am half thinking of trying sensah shifters or even goign 1x but its all thoughts so far

They were I believe the own brand for deeside cycles.

Bitd they were one of the big advertiser's in cycling weekly then other being Ribble.

They both had a double page spread with large numbers of fully customised bike options.

If anyone has a CW with those adverts I'd love to see one again..

Picked up the bike and the frame is in better nick than I thought it would be so i might get away with a t cut then a touch up job on the forks , he also threw in a bar plus stem as well as an old set of askium wheels but i think they look fairly worn so i will check for brake track for wear before i decide whether to use them .
The guy was a real bike nut with a double garage full of very nice stuff

Ok , i just bunged the wheels on along with the supplied bars and seatpost plus a saddle out of the spares box .Nothing is set up and its purely to get a feel for the bike .
