Sadly I have to bail on ToC. I have had a virus all this week and it’s not clearing. All I have read suggests it’s obviously not sensible to ride with a virus. It’s a real shame coz I was really looking forward to trying to stay with Norry and seeing everyone. Enjoy the ride- May the road rise up to meet you.

you’re staying nice and central. You could walk from there all the way along the Thames to tower bridge. It’ll be quite a long walk but lots to see along the way. Westminster across the river, parliament square etc, the south bank (where the big wheel is. There is often street entertainment and places to eat. Plus lots going on in the south bank centre which is the very large concrete building on your left, Tate modern (modern art gallery which has lots to see and is also just a fantastic space). There’s a building along the way just past Tate modern at London Bridge called ‘the shard’, which you may have spotted. (Very tall pointy building). You can go to the top of it and look out across london from a viewing platform. You have to book in advance but when I’m home I’ll find you the link. Then there is borough market right next door to it. Loads of nice food Both street food and restaurants. Then it is a small walk to tower bridge and the Tower of London.

Brother #3 appears to have picked up a bug. Depending on how he looks when I go to pick him up, I'm the transport for all 3 of us, I may have to refuse to transport his bike on health grounds.

First time for all 3 of us. I'll just be doing 4 25 mile rides in quick succession, on the same day . I'm not worried about the avgs, I'm concerned that my brothers are having a crisis of confidence and will fail to complete . One is already looking to book again asap for the same ride, wheather it's unfinished business or the desire to keep going with the bike riding I am unsure .

I'm looking forward to the ride. New territory for me. I'll just concentrate on completion of the first half, most of the climbing is in that, and then enjoy the flatter second half.

Whatever happens you’re going to smile when you look back on it mate ^_^

My one tip for you guys is try and stretch as much as possible. While you take a break and also while you ride try and stretch your arms and shoulders. It pays off later in the ride trust me.

It’s gonna be class mate!

Again I refer to #5  @bobinski isn't your brother is he

Here I am, bad chest, asthma keeps kicking off, and I'm still going. Wild horses wouldn't keep me away :boxing:

If Lee and I stretch, will we become as tall as you? :becool:

I do something I learnt while doing my DAS motorcycle course 12 years ago. The first day of the course I was so tense that my arms were like lead weights at the end of the day. I had trouble driving home.

The rest of the week whenever I felt myself getting tense I'd flap my arms like I was trying to take off. It must have looked stupid but I didn't suffer from heavy arms again.

I still do it to this day and also when riding a bike. It keeps the arms loose so that any body movement doesn't get transmitted to the bars.

If it’s a nice day I can recommend the walk - you see far more that way , the amount of statues and little monuments dotted everywhere if you look is unbelievable , there was a tiny museum down some steps where the old jail used to be , dedicated to instruments of torture used in the jail what was very interesting
Though I do not recommend going down just any old flight of stairs - it turns very stabby quickly
