I didn’t realise how expensive it is. Though believe me it’s cheaper than staying at the hotel there... :B)

They have an offer to do a river cruise by the looks of it. I’ve taken a boat to Grenwich before and it was really good. The tour guides are very knowledgeable about the history of London. And Greenwich is really beautiful. And not as busy as central London.

Enjoy the ToC all, shame I can't be there as i'm sure it would be a blast. I'm heading to St Malo tomorrow, dock saturday, from there it is 758 miles and 39k ft in 8 days to Santander for the return ferry. I've done no where near enough cycling, but we will be going at touring pace and stopping 3 or 4 times a day for proper food. The biggest day is 129 miles but that only has 3000ft, the hardest day will be when we cross the border to Spain, that's 95 miles and 9000ft. I look forward to hearing about TB and brothers smashing it, and the details of who gets dropped first for the rest of the cc crew.

Looks like I'm the latest ToC casualty. I never thought it would be a problem to go from London to Peterborough, but it looks like the first train from London is 9 AM .

That sounds like a great trip. @kipster I know Tenerife Bike training are having a 2 way tour(for some nutters) from Barcelona to the Atlantic taking in some of the more famous Pyrenian(sp) climbs along the way. Pink is there colour if you happen to cross paths

Lars looks like there are overnight engineering works meaning the service from London starts later than usual. You may be able to get a coach from Victoria coach station and then return by train?

I have emailed the hotel to see if I can transfer the booking to Lee. It is a double so lee and Lars could share. Not sure it’s as easy as one or both turning up and claiming to be me because they ask to see id/credit card.

It might be more straight forward to just ring them?

Worse case scenario there are a few hotels in Peterborough. I stayed at a holiday inn or something last year. But I’d be very surprised if you can’t tranfer the room.

Had to make a last minute decision to drop the ToC. At the airport now with no bike and no bike clothes.
You not doing the TT either? That's a real shame as would have been nice to catch up with you Lars. Unfortunately British trains on weekends are notoriously unreliable! Have a nice time in London - it's a great place to be a tourist :okay:
