I may be tempted to get a larger bottle for my down tube cage - currently I use a 750ml one, but think I should get a larger one in there (ooh er!) if the conditions are going to be as warm as suggested. Because of the bag/toolkit I've got hanging down from my top tube, I can only just squeeze a 500ml bottle in on my seat tube cage - and even then, can't easily get that out when on the move; only when I'm stopped.
You need a seat mount cage hanger like this.

Mounts on the seat rails. However I would not use it on a cardon railed seat.

I also use a coupler of nyloc nuts behind the plate for better security (halfords about 80p).

I use mine for a cycliq light and garmin varia radar light. Adapters for the two I got from Shapeways 3d printers, not cheap but worth it.

If it's any consolidation I struggle to drink and eat whilst riding, so tend to pull over for safety reasons. Better safe than sorry!

Norry I’m now in the ride London officially. Thanks for the heads up :okay:. Hopefully I get an early wave time!

Regarding bottles I might end up with 2 x 750ml. If anyone’s passing a bike shop and see’s larger I’d be grateful if you’d pick a couple up for me.

Not going past a bike shop but if you want to join the 'Elite' gang you can get the 950ml bottles for £5.99 from Amazon on Prime (next day delivery)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Elite-Drin...es&qid=1559125155&s=gateway&sr=8-1&th=1&psc=1

If you haven't got Prime I can get them for you and bring them down to Peterborough on Sat.

I'll be using 750-800ml bottles, as will my brothers. I've got a few spares if you need them.

Thanks mate. I have 750 bottles already, which might just about be enough for me. But hopefully the 950’s turn up for a bit of insurance.
Be careful yo don't do what the pro's do with those 950ml bidons .... take a sip and chuck it into the crowd .... they weigh a ton, you'll knock someone clean out

Feck, chest is still not 100% right. Can't stop coughing and fetching up gunk. Really need it to get a bit better for Sunday else it's gonna be a noisy ride for those around me xx( Bluey puffer is taking a bashing too to keep the asthma under some semblance of control :banghead: Even a gentle spin on Zwift tonight had me all over the shop :cursing: Bloody annoying! I may need some wheels to sit behind on Sunday ... any offers

It may not be me. I'm seriously thinking about the brothers and their lack of progress, not that I'm much better. I may have to hang with them to start with to drag them along as fast as I can. I doubt I'll be doing the 15-16mph average I want to do because of that. But hey Brothers .

They may surprise themselves on the day. With so many other riders around, the adrenaline and (hopefully) draft affect may well let you hit those speeds over the course.

I have the 2 that were too tight you could try. I could Order 2 Elites from Amazon Prime next day delivery if you like.
