Yeah you’ll survive it mate. There’ll probably be others doing it SS too. Like I said earlier, you’ll grind the hills at the start, spin on the flat hopefully, and die a little at the end! But you’ll be fine.

It’ll be a bit of a lonely day though, unless you’re prepared to wait for Andy
Yes, the last 25 miles or so will be very tough. Just got to hope I get into a nice group by then to drag me along! If on my own I may cry a little  (and wish I headed your advice )

I'm sure @CXRAndy will be just ahead of me, topping up his water

S.Hurley, who weighs less than Lee is also a fantastic climber

Just had a weekend on the beer and hugging the big white telephone asking for Huey - marvellous for weight loss and tipped the scales this morning at 9.10 st
- though I really wouldn’t recommend it as a training regime xx(

Cheers @CXRAndy ..... I'm under no illusion that I could climb the real thing in anywhere near my Zwift (or Bkool) time. If nothing else, I wouldn't have Bob shouting abuse (sorry encouragement) to me all the way up  Plus I don't go anywhere near the red in real life compared to Zwift - on Zwift I can always get off and finish the ride, in the real world I always need enough energy to get myself back home :heat:

You went into the red?!?

Heat and the attrition of repeated ascents must take their toll in a way a software program cannot replicate.

It was day one for Alp D Huez, granted, tools, water, and heat will of slowed my attempt . I would of expected to be within 10 mins, not nearly 30 mins different.

Plus altitude, plus wind, plus weight of bidons, tools etc.

And you can throw your technique out of the window on the turbo too. Control is irrelevant. You can just stand up the hole way and stomp the peddles if you want.

Well done Carl on your Tron, I've got 8k ft. It will wait till winter to finish those extra ft.

I can tell you from first hand experience, the effort(HR/power) to climb Zwift's Alp is comparable to the real Alp DHuez. The only difference is speed, therefore time. Zwift is a little optimistic with it calc. Well it is for me. My Zwift time 1hr3, real D'Huez 1hr30. The fastest guy last week did it in 1hr6 in our group an he is a decent climber(Lee type)

Alberto who is the owner of Tenerife bike Training, is a young and very quick light rider finished in the top150 of the Marmotte Yesterday. He climbed the DHuez in just under the hour with a on below. S.Hurley, who weighs less than Lee is also a fantastic climber View attachment 418546
Strange how rides are mixed in that section. Unless someone actually did the ride with a power meter, I guess the "power" rides are the BKool rides.

10 min sounds optimistic given all the other factors at play. Still a great time Andy

Post Pyrenees I’m down to 78kg. I’m coming for you son!

Well done.
I came back weighing 78.3( the .3 is important ) which shocked me. Fortunately 2 days working from home allowed my body to reset it self in the most natural way imaginable
73.5 kg this morning. phew. And it’s not as if I have not been eating either.

I was on a Kickr so I'm hoping power was fairly accurate. Not used the Pro for ages (don't actually have it any more as a guy at work has borrowed it - I'm hoping he'll buy it off me for £120). My original PB was on the Kickr too, but in a Tour of Zwift 'race' so loads of people to chase. Yesterday I only had Bob to chase, and that didn't go too well :surrender:

Yeah, your watts were probably accurate, but what I meant was that real life rides are mixed together with virtual rides:

Probably an old bkool glitch, since all the "power" rides predates 2016.
