My reading on the Wahoo help pages suggests you only get turn by turn directions if the route is synced to the Elemnt via rwgps or Komoot though?

Ah ok. I've never used turn by turn just routing. The Elemnt beeps and displays red leds if you deviate from route

To get routes on, I have the Elemnt connected to the WiFi at home and just sync on the device. You need to link the Elemnt to Strava and Rwgps etc on the companion app. You can also send the route to the device from the phone if you forget to sync.

One of the local clubs has just put on facecrack that they are starting chaingang rides
i have asked if i can tag along and learn at the same time , guess it will start slow and gradually pick up ,but hopefully it should get me used to what i should do :hyper:
now i just have to cover all bumps scabs and scars so i don't scare them :crazy:

If you do that, they will be gone, never to be seen again.

Only a few youngsters at our club do them, it tends to kill all others who pop along to try.

Yes, Hopefully they build pace over a mile or two.

This is what happens to them at the end

Sort of hoping as they are all new to it ( same as me ) that speed comes after a bit of confidence boosting and sorting out general rules - else i can imagine carnage

You'll love it, it will take a few attempts to get organised, I guess it depends on general experience in the group.

My legs were tired for a ride this morning after last night's chain gang ride.

For the DD I had a little go at shifting a bit of weight, eating all the usual stuff like salad, cake and biscuits. I've managed to shift a couple of kg, so currently 73kg. A weekend away now, so need to be good to keep it off, I might even try for another kg off, anything to make the hills easier.

I'm still in the mid 80's ..... both weight and music I listen to ... those hills are going to hurt

I didn't bother - don't think it makes any difference I noticed it didn't ask about expected speed for the starting pens this time - but then it was just a matter of first come first served on the day anyway
